My Daughter

From the first day you were conceived,
there has been a special bond between us.
This bond has continued through your childhood,
teen years, and even now that you are a Mother
of three handsome sons.

You were a sweet baby, then you grew into a sweet
and beautiful little girl. Always caring and
thoughtful of everyone in your life.
As you grew from the little girl into a teen,
testing your wings , the bond was still there
and my heart grew even more with pride in you.

Little then could I realize, as you grew
into the wonderful person and woman that you are today,
would you become even more beautiful than when a child,
with more tenderness and caring than simple
words could ever express.

We have lived together, fought together, and sometimes
had our moments of disagreements, yet through it all,
one undisputable fact was there.
You held the love in my heart with your smile,
your eyes, and your words.

The many times you have helped me. The cards that you
have made and given me as a child, The cards you bought.
All cherished, along with the wonderful letters
I have received from you.

Your happiness is my hope and it is my goal for you.
To always see you happy in life, no matter where you are
or what you are doing.

We are miles apart right now, yet as close as though
we were standing side by side. It does not matter that
I cannot hug you right now with my arms,
for you are always hugged with my soul.

You walk in Gods Light.
What more could a Mother ask for, dear Daughter?
What more could she want? Your future is there waiting
for you to but take it and do with it what you will.
And no matter what you do with it , I do want you to know,
my pride in you will only grow.

So, put your left hand on your right shoulder,
then the right hand on your left shoulder. Then squeeze!
Momma has just given you a hug from her heart across the miles.

With my Love,
Mother
