On My Father's Wings
I remember when I was but a child, My Father: Entered into Eternal Rest sunday October 15, 1989
And waiting for Dad I sat.
And saw him walking up the street,
So I jumped from where I was at.
I ran to him, with open arms,
And eyes full of glee.
To find the man I though my Dad,
A total stranger to me.
I went back to my place,
on our front porch to wait.
And soon enough there was Dad,
On this so special date.
Each afternoon thereafter,
I waited for him to come home,
And always there I would see him,
Walking up alone.
He made my life a happy one,
With hugs and lots of love,
And now he shares those precious things,
With our Lord in Heaven above.
Now my Father's wings
softly brush against my face.
And his hand reaches out to me,
From that glorious place.
He's been gone a long time now,
And yet he's here today.
From heaven he sends his warmest love,
Along my lonely way.
How I have missed him,
That special Dad of mine,
How lonely life seems sometimes,
Without that special time.
But I know that someday,
In another place we will share our lives of love.
And that other place,
Is in God's Heaven Above.
