Hi, I am Carol, Thought I would do a page about me!
Though Who would be interested, huh? LOL
Guess youve figured out I'm in Dallas, Texas.
Well, if not, take
a close look see up above and you will
see where home is for me.
I wasn't born here
(but got here as soon as I could),
I am actually
from TN.
I was born January 21, which makes me an
Aquarian, but born on the cusp of Capricorn.
Since these two signs are
conflicting in personality traits,
I have run around most of my life not
sure whether I will be carefree or serious.
Being the Mother of 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys,
all grown now, kept
me busy working most of my life.
I've learned a few things and have traveled
to almost every state in this great country,
plus got to go overseas a few times.
My childhood was like anyone elses,
but I was the baby in my family and
pretty well spoiled by my Dad.
The things I got away with. wow.
But now,
there is so much I look back upon
and remember with fond
memories.
My first bicycle for instance.
(too bad a car ran over it with me on it!)
And my first horse
(which threw me and broke both of my wrists).
Gee I even remember my first car
(which the rear axle broke on
and we almost plummeted off a
mountain, going backwards, in the Ozarks).
My first "solo"
in that car should have been a warning
to me about driving
(when I was the only one in a group of cars doing 45
in a 30mph zone to get stopped).
For a serious note,
my Mother died while I was still a teenager.
So my Aunt Helen filled in her place somewhat,
giving good advice. She was tops
and I loved her dearly.
Losing her years later was like losing my
Mother all over again.
But as she always told me,
"Life goes on"
As time passed, I found this to be true.
My daughters, all happily married,
are fortunate to have their Dads
looks. lol
They are beautiful. And of course my two sons
look like their Dad to.
(They are blessed for sure! LOL)
As a youngster, I looked forward to the day
when I could give advice to people
with the wisdom I found in older people back then.
But the older I get, the more I realize
giving advice can be pretty hazardous.
I gave my husband some advice 20 years ago
and haven't seen him since!
But my kids and I had some great times.
I got to do all the things I did
as a kid all over again!
Swimming with them (in the 3ft.wide wading
pool).
Having tea parties with my girls
(we went through alot of Kool Aid back then.)
fishing with my boys
(whether they wanted me there or not. lol).
Oh the joys of Motherhood.
After the wreck in January, 1979,
my life changed drastically.
Went through some really "tuff" times learning
just how hard it can be for a disabled Mom.
(The truck that hit my car
knocked me 318 feet down the road).
Having lost everything
when I could no longer work,
my home, car, job, and more,
Putting things in God's hands
was a turning point in my life.
I had to stop looking at all the things
I could not do and start looking
for things I could do.
I found out who my real friends vs:
my fair weather friends were.
True friends are a treasure.
To say youre a
friend takes very little,
but to show youre a friend, when the chips are
down, takes guts sometimes!
I run my own bookkeeping business here now,
which takes alot of time and
energy,
so don't have the time I wish I had
to be with my "online"
friends.
I have quit smoking, relapsed, and quit again,
but without
those friends
would have never made the quit stick!
They have been kind,
supportive, and encouraging from day one.
I love them each and everyone
for it.
We share good (and yes sometimes corny) jokes,
but all are sent in the spirit
of friendship and sharing,
so they do make my days nicer.
They bring the Aquarian side of me out.
LOL'S there.
Oh sure, I have met those that weren't too nice as well,
but life is full of those kind of
people to,
we just have to look over their rudeness
or unkind words.
When it happens, my Aunts words come back to me.
