The Tornado!

The rain, falling gently on my face.
As a gentle breeze, stirs the air.
Dark clouds, moving closer in place
On a day that started so fair!

The sunshine, no longer seen.
As the ominous clouds draw near.
A Flash! for only a second!
Lightning hits closer to here.

As the raindrops grow even larger,
we hear a rumble up high
like a distant flying jet,
hiding in that dark sky!

The air around me grows cool,
Raindrops now turning to hail!
The rumbling now growing much louder!
Trouble, never does fail!

Winds now growing stronger,
objects being blown away!
Trees beginning to uproot,
as the wind makes them sway.

Then we see the funnel!
Grasping all within its wake.
Tearing and ripping asunder,
Life and limb now at stake!

No shelter can we find,
Not a place is in our sight.
As the funnel draws even nearer,
in all its fury and might!

Debris begins to hit us,
As our feet lift from the ground.
We're twisting and rising now,
far above our small town.

Gasping and struggling we fight,
Just trying to stay alive.
Then the twisting stops,
and our bodies begin to dive.

Our bodies jerk,
as we try so hard to scream,
Until we hit the floor,
To find this is just a dream!

The sun's shinning brightly,
Outside our window now.
Another new day begins,
And the dreams take a bow!

(Just having a little fun here, folks! LOL)

After having tornados here and damages
We needed a little pick me up joke.

Here's a picture at a small bit of
the damage done in our town!

It has been one year ago, today,
March 28, 2000, five people died.
Directly and indirectly due to these tornados.

This pic is just of what happens to cars!
