Hello.
I am Christoper

I am 12 years old (thats dog years, folks)
In human years, I would now be 84.
But I get around good for my age!

I still love to fetch a ball,
play tug of war,
and playing chase is an all time favorite!

I own a lady named, Nancy Carol
She's been around me all my life.
We get along pretty well, though at times, she
does scold me for some reason or another.
*doggie grin

Like the time I just couldn't hold "it" any longer
Boy! You would have though I committed murder! lol
I mean, gee whiz, it all came up with cleaners
and paper towels! Besides, it gave her something
to do, right? But for some reason, unknown to me,
she just didn't seem to appreciate my,
Marking my territory! So, I didn't do it anymore,
which seemed to please her.

Sometimes humans can be so confusing!
they tell us to "sit" "down". Now which is it
they want us to do? To sit? Or to laydown?

We are pretty smart critters, you know
I mean after all, we can understand alot of what
humans say. But duh, do they understand what we say?
no, I don't think so...... duh.

We do all sorts of things for humans to!

I mean, some of us go fetch the newspaper for them
After they read it, they put it down
on the floor for us. Haven't figured out why they
expect us to read the paper though! *smile

We do put up with alot sometimes from humans.
They assume that we love kids. I mean kids that even
they don't want to be around!
Little monsters that gouge our eyes, pull our hair
and step on our toes! But we put up with all that
and who gets the treats?? The kid does! Then when we
try to share a little of that treat for all we went
though, just a nibble mind you, what happens?
They fuss at us! Hey, the kid was dribbling the stuff
all over the floor anyway, folks! After all, its like
this kid is in my bed (I do sleep on the floor you know)
and dribbling food everywhere!

Now what kind of fairness do you call that? Do you
really expect me to be wagging my tail, happy with this?
hmmmm..... Well, as we are "dogs", I guess we do have
to put up with whatever our "humans" put us through don't
we.
I would like to see a human with a collar around his
neck and being taken for a walk sometime!
Gee, they take us out with this leash on our
collars. Just when we find a spot to "mark", they
give us that ole yank! Saying NO, not there! I mean after
all, are their noses so bad they can't smell the fact
that a few hundred dogs "went" there before me?

I have figured out that most humans are partially deaf.
I mean they don't hear that siren until its a block from
the house! And here it was, killing my ears for the last
ten minutes! And they wondered why I was howling? Duh...

Ever notice how humans eat? They get the whole plate
and only sometimes do they leave even a scrap for us!
Gee, we were looking forward to just a bite or two.
They should be thankful we are willing to eat their
leftovers! I don't think they would eat someone elses
leftovers that have been chewed on, spit out, or gotten
cold, now would they? Right, my point exactly. *doggie grin

Some humans put their dog out in their backyards
and forget they're out there, unless they remember
to feed and give them a little fresh water.

Now folks, we like a little attention to.
I mean gee, don't you want to feel loved?
If someone stuck you outside (in all sorts of weather
I might add) wouldn't you want a little attention to?
After all, that rainstorm we went through, lightning
and all, rattled our nerves to!

Hint humans: we like air conditioning as much as you
on those hot summer days.

And if we think we can get away with it, you can
expect us to on occasion jump into your beds!
After all, you walk around on ours! *big doggie grin

We are faithful to you to! Not gonna leave you
for a young lady dog. Well, tee hee, not unless she
flirts with us alot and even then, we will come home
as soon as she gets tired of us.
Besides, we are probably starving for those
table scraps by then.

I think humans and us make great companions, actually.
We generally can put up with alot from each other.
Course, being a dog myself, I think its the canine
that does come out on the short end most of the time.

Many are not as lucky as me!
My "pet", Nancy always remembers to feed me
and brush me each day (just like she brushes her hair)
She spends alot of time with me and I get
to stay in her house. She lets me out alot
especially since the "marking my territory" inside
that one time. *doggie grins bigtime
She talks to me and trusts me pretty well
(course, she has no idea that I sneak onto her bed
when shes not home.)

But she watches out for me just as I watch out
for her. I bark when I hear someone coming near
our door. They don't have to be coming here, just near
the door is all. *grin But hey, at least I try.
Doesn't matter when either, 2AM is the same as 10AM
to me. After all, I don't need a clock like humans do
to know what needs to be done and when!

I hope you will all be kind to your pet.
Dog, cat (oh boy do I love playing chase with them.)
or whatever the pet is. Just remember, they have
feelings to. And needs! So just put them in your
place. Are you hungry? They probably are to. Do
you need to take a "break". Well, thats a definite
thing they need to. *doggie grins again.

Just remember also! Give us a pat on the head
and a word of encouragement sometimes, ok?
Thanks "human", its appreciated! (see my tail wagging?)
*Doggie smiles to all of you!
