Napalm Death supported by Face Down, Crowbar, andAt The Gates.

Face Down were on when I got into the London Astoria 2, and they were prettydamn good. Being that they were the support act for Napalm Death, the moshwas already pretty intense. I got a drink and watched. A band well worthlistening to, methinks.

Next, some bunch of fat blokes called Crowbar came on. They were quite heavy, but not quite what I'd expected. I got in the mosh only to have someoneland on my head, which caused me to spend the rest of the week not beingable to look to the left without being in some degree of pain. Crowbar werecertainly an interesting live act, if nothing else.

I was fortunate enough to run into the singer of At The Gates on the floorof LA2. We had a bit of a chat, and then he excused himself of the groundsthat he had to be on stage quite soon. Suffice to say, a lot of people wouldhave been quite happy going home after At The Gates, being that they werefucking fast, and fucking heavy, and fucking good. I highly reccomend them.

Napalm Death, though, were in top form. Mind blowingly loud, and in a smallvenue. The mosh was savage - not for anyone with a nervous temprament -and I didn't go near it. They played for a good long time, and they seemedto steer away from their 7 or 8 second long tracks. For an encore they performed"Fuck off Nazi Punks" by the Dead Kennedys - Napalm style. A finedeath band, if a little disjointed and hectic. But beware - not for peoplewho like their eardrums!
