22.09.04 NEW COVERS RECORD

Napalm finally decided to release the new covers album, LEADERS NOT FOLLOWERS PART II. The album will feature a brazillian pressing as a vinyl LP, limited to only 500 copies and with liner notes written by myself. It will be released by the local DIY label LIBERATION RECORDS. Long time contributors to the hardcore/metal scene, Liberation's release of this album brings Napalm back to it's hardcore roots of Do it Yourself punk ethics.

Liberation is a label that has been contributing to the brazillian and international music scenes for over ten years, and the fact that Napalm Death, a band that started in Crass records over twenty years ago, is going to be associated with them, only shows how far can an undergound, third world label go when determinated to it's goals.

Congratulations to Liberation, Century Media and Napalm Death in this very special release that undoubtely sets a landmark in both the band's and Liberation's history.

20.08.2003 NEW BAND, NEW RECORD

So, ND just finished recording LEADERS NOT FOLLOWERS PART II, full with another set of covers of bands that our heroes love! Inclued there are covers of ANTI CIMEX and DISCHARGE, recorded with the help of ex napalm death bassist Jim Withley! Yessir! Also, Nick Bullen told me he was invited to take part. I don't know if he accepted it, and I forgot to ask Shane about it. Sorry! I will let you know. Below, a nice picture of Shane and Jim while recording.

Noticed that Jim is left handed? Just like Hendrix.

Also, Mick, Shane, Kevin Sharp (ex brutal truth) and perhaps Buzz from Melvins/Fantomas are planning to start recording with a new total punk thrash grind band. Shane says things are moving and he is on his way to pay Mick a visit to see what happens. I would say that's good news!

I'm planning to take this page out of Geocities and update it with reviews and info on the last album (order of the leech) and the excellent DVD our friends have released, "PUNISHMENT IN CAPITALS" (that's it, in capitals!). Anyone else got those? Sheer aggression! The DVD is very well recorded and it includes some killer backstage material. I won't get ahead of myself here though. Later I will let you know all I think of it. Meanwhile download a song by The Dregs called "Day 444" from the albun "Unsung Heroes". This track is beautiful! Anyone else digs the Dregs? Also, I just got the new KIlling Joke but haven't listened to it yet. Comments? Send me email!

Anyway, be well and I PROMISE to start updating the page as soon as I get it out of Geocities and into another, better free server!

Take care, PEACE - OUT

09.07.2002 NAPALM PREPARES DVD

It seems that Napalm Death is preparing a DVD with a recent gig, maybe with some bonus stuff thrown in, to be released (probably) later this year. Let's wait and see what happens. Meanwhile, Justin Broadrick announced that he will start a new rock project called "Jesu". Hopefully that will fil Godflesh's gap.

Also, I am considering going to England next year to start a grind project with Mick Harris. We want to play some easy going metal influenced thrashcore, fast riffs, heavy parts etc. Celtic Frost, Siege, Intense Degree, Slayer, Discharge etc. are good references and examples. Nothing too technical. We are planning on rehearsing for about a month and then recording a few songs (ten or so) for a release . If you are serious, play guitar or bass and are willing to rehearse in Birmingham, please get in touch , let's chat, see if we connect, and maybe do something ok?

Also, Earache is planning on re-releasing some of the classic titles of their catalog in glorious 220 grams high quality virgin vinyl, with original artwork and pictures. Early Napalm Death titles are amongst the titles selected to be repressed. This is great news for lovers of the warmer, more organic vinyl sound!

01.05.2002 I DECIDED TO UPDATE

Ok, GODFLESH has been terminated, yeah sad ain't it? I loved that band! Fortunately I saw the band live in 1993 (or was it 94? I don't really remember) during the Selfless tour. Apparently Justin had a nervous breakdown just before getting on the plane to start the US tour. When I read that Ben had gotten out of the boat I already thought that that was not good news, and now, this. Well, they left us with great music and great memories . Godflesh will, as corny as this will sound, live forever in my memory. Hope Justin starts another creative/interesting project as soon as possible.

Regarding our dear Napalm boys, well, Lock Up recently played a successful date in Oslo (Norway) duting the Inferno Festival, in spite of just having a couple of rehearsals before the gig. Napalm is writting and creating new music for a forthcoming album to be released in the end of this year (or in the beggining of 2003). A couple of titles for you:"There's only one war" and "Narcoleptic".

Time to go before I give up this again. More as I have it and post it to you! Please anyone who has not received a reply from me be forgiven, I have been busy with lot's of shit happening in my life lately, sad breakups and the such.... I didn't have the time, but I did read all you messages. Be well my friends!

Joaquim

11.12.2001 MITCH IS INJURED

Mitch broke his leg!! I'm not sure about what happened but Bruno from france saw the band live four days ago and Mitch was playing sitting on a chair, if I get more info on this I will let you know. Thanks to Bruno for the information!

10.12.2000

SHITLOADS OF NEWS!!!!

Ok Merry Xmas everyone and fuckgrind!!!!!! Enemy of the music business is out, no deal with an USA recording deal as of yet but they are working on it (be patient mates!).

Jesse is planning on a release of old Terrorizer stuff, demos, outtakes, rare live shit and the such but he needs people interested in releasing it! Do you own a label? Would you release it? Let us know and get in touch!

Also the link www.napalmdeath.com is up! Visit it it will take you to the Lock Up homepage.

The tour bus broke when Napalm was going from France to Spain and our heroes were stuck for days, which is really shitty! There is a tour diary at www.nasum.com. Swedish grinders NASUM delivered great gigs, according to my infiltrator spy the longtime friend and collaborator BEN . I do believe him since last year I was also exposed to Nasum's grindcore hollocaust at New York in the legendary CBGB'S. Great fucking band and great fucking guys!! This is the perfect band for Napalm to tour with: political and brutally honest grindcore! Also, Ben had the chance to get in the tour bus and watch four of the French gigs they played on the tour! BEN YOU LUCKY BASTARD!!!

The new album by Brujeria, "Brujerizmo" is out! Buy it! Buy it! Buy it! It features a song called "Anti-Castro" how can you not buy that? And now Jesse is officially in the band!

Russ Rusell (ND's sound engineer) recorded fifteen gigs on this tour. Some of this material will probably be available at one of the band's official sites. Stay tuned.

Mick Harris's just released Scorn's new album and ep. The album is called "Greetings from Birmingham" and the EP "Imaginaria Award". This is Scorn's best work since White Irisis Blind, which was their peak in my opinion as a big fan of this project. Do yourself a favor by ordering the record from www.klangstabil.com/hymen

ND should play in Asia, (Japan probably) and Australia in March. After that the South American tour will probably follow, so they say, with Lock Up as a support band.... Hmmm I heard this before somewhere.... Let us pray. An american tour is likely to follow, maybe with Cannibal Corpse, a band which in my opinion has NOTHING to do with Napalm Death. ND is a hardcore/metal band for intelligent people, not the case of Cannibal. Nothing against their music, I like it, I have a couple of albums by them and have been to a couple of gigs, but their "macho wannabe" attitude is as ridiculous as Jack Owen's "I have the Brutal Death Metal look now" bald hilarious head-sunglasses wearing I wanna be evil dumb look. COCK ROCK ALIENATION YOU MOTHERFUCKERS! Again, this is my personal opinion.

Napalm is looking forward into getting their back catalog on the new label so they can release vinyl versions of the last records (Bootlegged,Words, etc) something Earache did not care about, and re-mastering their old albums and re-releasing them!

After ten years I finally cutted my hair so now I have short hair again. January 1990 - October 2000. I think I will let it grow back. But I liked the way it is. Pictures of myself to come to my page soon.

Also, obviously, ENEMY OF THE MUSIC BUSINESS has been out for a while. Great reviews and acceptance everywhere. There are no plans for an USA release of ENEMY as of yet, but that shall be remedied soon. Meanwhile you can order the album on-line and PLEASE DO SO! Napalm needs your help with sales! Let's respect their work and do our share. You can order your copy at: www.dreamcatcher-records.com. The official Napalm Death page is up at: www.enemyofthemusicbusiness.com. Also, Napalm won the "Spirit of independence" award at the last Kerrang! Party, a well deserved prize as we all know. Another BBC session was recorded on the 25 and 26 of September. Will this session ever be released? Remains to be be seen. Last but not least a video will be made for the song "Necessary Evil", by Mitch Harris himself!!! Again, we have to wait and see. This are the remaining dates for the Nasum/Napalm Death tour:

DECEMBER

09 Oss (NL) @ Groene Engel

10 Kontich (B) @ Lintafabreik

11 Luxembourg (L) @ Atelier

(NL) = Holland

(B) = Belgium

(L) = Luxembourg

17.08.2000

And do I have news for you my friends? Yes I do!!! The new Napalm Death album will be released in September 25 (if I'm not mistaken the new Morbid Angel album will be out in the same day on Earache UK) the title? ENEMY OF THE MUSIC BUSINESS. The album was recorded in Park Gate Studios in Battle, East Sussex with producer Simon Efemy. Well the lyrics will explore how fucked up the, ahm, "music business" is and the experience Napalm has had with it along the years. Great antecipation preceedes this album since apparently it is the band's strongest effort to date, described to me by some sources as a mature cross between the best moments of Utopia Banished, Harmony Corruption and the newer records. The band is doing lot's of press stuff and interviews concerning the new record, which should be good promotion. The Lock Up concert in Wacken was a major success with Barney joining the band to sing "Dead Shall Rise" which was probably beautiful. They have also played in Sweden with The Haunted and Nasum, which was great. In two weeks the band will go to the Kerrang awards and they might get something, keep those fingers crossed for our boys.

Tracklist for ENEMY OF THE MUSIC BUSINESS is: 'Taste The Poison', 'Next On The List', 'Constitutional Hell','Vermin', 'Volume Of Neglect', 'Thanks For Nothing', 'Can't Play, Won't Pay', 'Blunt Against The Cutting Edge', 'Cure For The Common Complaint', 'A Necessary Evil', 'C.S. (Conservative Shithead Pt 2)', 'Mechanics of Deceit', '(The Public Gets) What The Public Doesn't Want', 'Fracture In The Equation'. There is also a secret track in the end.

The band will come to South America by early 2001 (January probably) and then come back to Europe for a tour.

I made an exclsuive interview with Shane Embury last month and it is available here, read it and learn more news and more about Napalm!!! All those questions we wanted to ask for years! I also ADDED a lot of other interviews to the Interviews page, old ones but informative nevertheless, so go and read them if you will.

Hopefully I will be getting a promo copy of this album soon and will post a review when I can.

Lock Up has got an website of it's on running, official and everything, visit it at WWW.LOCKUP666.COM

"Leaders Not Followers" got a North American release through Relapse records, which should make everything easier for you if you live in the United States.

News on Bill Steer: one of his new bands is called "Firebird" (does anyone knows if he is still playing in Blacksmith?) and besides Bill the band features Leo Smee (Cathedral) on bass and Spiritual Beggars's drummer Ludwig Witt (Beggars's is Mike Ammot's, previously from Carnage and then Carcass guitarrist, doom/stoner band. He also plays in the Death Metal act Arch Enemy). Their album is out on Lee Dorrian's Rise Above label. Thanks to Peter for a lot onf information!!!

08.06.2000

Almost six months between updates! No wonder no one writes to me no more! Just kidding folks! Well we do have news! Napalm Death is recording the follow up to "Word from the exit wound" right now! It seems that the new album features 14 songs, 12 of which have blast beats, pure aggression they say! The album will be out in September through Dream Catcher records. An european tour will probably follow in late 2000. Also, the band plans a South American tour in late June playing in Chile, Venezuela, Paraguay, Argentina and maybe Brazil.

Menwhile, the complete BBC sessions have been released in a single CD with new tracks! This is the latest Napalm Death release. Tracklist for this is:

1. Kill, The / Prison Without Walls / Dead Part 1
2. Deceiver / Lucid Fairytale / In Extremis
3. Blind To The Truth / Negative Approach / Common Enemy
4. Obstinate Direction / Life / You Suffer (Part Two)

7. Divine Death / C.S. / Control
8. Walls / Raging In Hell / Conform Or Die / S.O.B.
9. Unchallenged Hate / Mentally Murdered
10. From Enslavement To Obliteration/ Suffer The Children

More info on Little Giant Drug, Mitch Harris' side project, as given by it's label ORG records:

LITTLE GIANT DRUG - PRISMCAST
LITTLE GIANT DRUG'S debut album is in your shops from March 27th - All ORG releases are now distributed throughout Europe to all your favourite record shops by Plastichead - The much anticipated twelve track album is called "PRISMCAST" Little Giant Drug - a band described by Metal Hammer, in a recent 10/10 review, as our finest discovery yet and a post-grunge experience that pisses all over the likes of Creed from a very great height - are actually a rather adventurously melodic band put together by Napalm Death's Shane Embury and Mich Harris, however, you really should ignore that fact, this is a million miles away from the excesses of Napalm Death, this is far more in the manner of relaxed creativity of say Levitation or maybe Kings X or perhaps Dawn Of The Replicants - rather unique and somewhat surprising actually... We're rather pleased to have it on ORG and we'd really like you to take the time to check it out

Speaking of side-projects, Meathook Seed plans on making a video and a remix for two songs. One of the videos will be of the song "Lost in a Box" and one of the mixes of "I think you lie", both from the outfit's last album B.I.B.L.E.

If you would like to check out ORG records homepage: http://www.organart.demon.co.uk/orgimenu.htm

LOCK UP will be playing the Milwaukee Metalfest this year.

I have been corresponding a lot with Napalm Death's original drummer Miles Ratlege, the lad gave me so much new info that I couldn't resist making a new page for early napalm death. Check it out! It feautres rare pictures, information, reviews, writing and an interview with Rat himself.

More news as they come!

11.01.2000

Happy Y2K for those of you who made it here. It's been a while since the last update and I'm sorry for that, thanks for your patience. A special thanks goes for my brothers around the world who send me letters helping me in this difficult time. You guys are the best and my heart goes with you.

Not many news about ND. The Lock Up album has been out (in Europe and the states) for a while now, it's really good old school death/grind, abounding blast beats and aggression, perfect. Read an interview with the band in this month's issue of TERRORIZER magazine. "Leaders not Followers" is getting great reviews everywhere, and it's the first taste of what is coming: a new ND album should be released by Dream Catcher in 2000. Does anyone has more info on Dream Catcher records? An email address or something? If you do please contact me. So far it seems that there are no immediate plans for an US edition of the new EP. Ok, I will write again when I have more news. Cheers and take care.

19.11.99 NEW RECORDS OUT:

Leaders not Followers is out now. The new Meathook Seed will be released soon. All through Dream Catcher Records.

ABOUT ME AND WHAT HAPPENED A FEW DAYS AGO

This has nothing to do with ND but as it will make me be away from the page for a while, I would like to share this with anyone that may care.

On November third, my best friend Cadu went to a movie theather with his girlfriend (and my best girl-friend since I was 15 years old) Fabiana and three other friends of ours. Midway through the movie, a person got into the theather with a machine gun and started shooting people randomly. Fabiana was killed instantly, Cadu was injured in the right arm and right foot and other friend of mine, Edu, was injured in the foot. They both are recovering well.

But my friend Fabiana is dead. She was a sweet, nice, generous, kind, beautifull girl full of joy and hope. I will never see her again, I saw her the last that day, and did not went to the theather with them because I had some classes to take at night.

We spent that whole day together, went dowtown to buy tickets to a concert and she also wanted to buy a new pair of earrings so we searched and she finally found a pair she liked for a nice price. I remember going through a window in a record shop and joking with her: "Hey the new Misfits record is out why don't you buy it for me?" and she laughed. That's one of the last things I told her. Before that we were reading catalogs from collages in France, she was going to travel to France next year to study photography. She went to see Napalm Death with me in 1997 and was too scared to join in the moshpit, of course, she is a girl... But she liked the concert I know.

I will miss her forever, because I know I will never see her or hold her again. Wherever you are Fa, I love you. I always did, I always will.

13.11.99 MINOR CORRECTIONS, BILL STEER NEWS AND MORE INFO ON THE NEW ALBUM

Sorry for the long delay between the last update and this one. I have been really busy and something terrible has happened. More details on that later on. As far as Napalm Death goes the guys seem to be doing fine. The new record, it seems, will be released by a label called "Dream Catcher Records". I'm not sure but I think this is the label for the US version of the record. Also, the album will feature just six songs and not ten as previously announced. It should hit the streets as you read this.

Also, the new Meathook Seed album will be released through the Dream Catcher label.

However, according to Mitch Carpenter, a close friend of the band, this are the news:

Leaders not followers is supposed to be out by November on Pangea records in Europe. I am sure that the US wont see it for a while though. The new EP contains 6 songs produced by Russ Russel and Simon Effemy. Recorded at Jacobs studio in LONDON. Song list is as follows:

Group/song title/style

1. Raw Power/Politicians/hardcore

2. Incinterator/Slaughter/death blast

3. Pentagram/Demonic Possesion

4. Repulsion/Maggots in coffin/grind

5. Death/Back from Death

6. Dead Kennedys/Nazi Punks Fuck Off/punk hardcore

ND is currently on a 6 week tour of Europe with KONKOHRA. also the LOCK UP project will be released thru Nuclear Blast in November. LITTLE GIANT DRUG "Prizum Cast" will be released in Nov. MEATHOOK SEED's "Basic Instructions before Leaving Earth" willl be released on Pangea(UK) Dream Catcher(USA) in Oct/Nov.

What's the real thing? Hard to say. Let's wait and see.

MORE NEWS: It seems that Bill Steer recorded his new "solo album" now in August 1999. Let's see what comes out!

EVEN MORE NEWS: Bill's record will be released by Japanese label Toy's Factory, who has released a number of Earache albums in Asia. Prepare yourself to pay the price of an import (if you don't live in Japan).

19.08.99 BACK! NAPALM WORKING ON THE COVERS!

So finally I'm back! What a fucking huge trip! H.P.Lovecraft's gravestone, Iron Maiden with Bruce Dickinson and billions of bands! Nasum, Dilliger Scape Plan, Candiria, Monstrosity, Gorguts, Misfits, UK Subs and Mr. Bungle to name just a few! Went to the Metalfest in the US and met tons of cool people! A loud cheerz goes out to Pellet, Gordon, Andy, Matt and everyone I met at Relapse, William and Children Of Caine zine, everybody from the band Fall, Danny Lilker, Steve Austin and Today is the Day, everyone in/with Nasum and Soilent Green and all the bands/people I met and were ultra cool to me, THANKS!

I have re-formatted the members page. Now it's easier to go around and look at the bios in chronological order. Also, I have added a new page: TABS! For all of your guitar freaks out there. Many thanks to Rick for the generosity of sending those tabs!

Now as for Napalm news: our heroes are preparing to record and EP called "Leaders not followers", to be released in October. The record will feature covers of classic songs by Death (back from the dead), Raw Power, Repulsion, Dead Kennedys (probably a reissue of the old "Nazi Punks Fuck Off" cover?) and Pentagram. It's said that the record will be released by a new label: Ranch Life records, and that it will feature a total of 10 cover songs, but that remains to be seen.

24.06.99 LONG TIME NO SEE... OUT OF EARACHE!

Sorry for taking so long to update this, but my monitor was broken. Ok, LOCK ON is actually called LOCK UP and LG from Entombed couldn't meet the recording schedule of Jesse, Shane and Nik so they called (and recorded with) Peter Tatgren from HIPOCRISY instead. I think they made about eleven songs or so.

SHOCKING NEWS: NAPALM DEATH HAS LEFT EARACHE, yeah it's true: the kings of grindcore have left the seminal label which started it all, and are currently looking for a new one. I will let you know of any news when I have some. All I can say now is that with the band leaving Earache we definitely have the end of an era for Earache (which has been showing signs of change for the last five years or so) and for all of grind. The ND/Earache combo was one of the most traditional associations ever, with Earache being an synonym of Napalm Death and grindcore, and vice-versa. With the parting of ways, this ends.

I have started a pictures page. check it out, plus, I updated the personal page for the ones who care.

GO SEE THE NEW STAR WARS! A great fun film, some flaws (Anakin does too much for a boy of his age, even if he has midi-chlorians!) but nothing that can spoil the beauty of the saga, great battle sequences and one of the best films of this deacade! GO SEE IT!

25.04.99 SIDE PROJECTS WORKING ON!

Hello there mates! This ones are just out of the oven: Shane, Dino Cazares, Billy Gould and others have just finished recording the new Brujeria album, due to be released in a later date this year. Also, Mitch has COMPLETED RECORDING on the second Meathook Seed album, to be released this year. Meanwhile, Shane and Jesse gathered with L.G. Petrov from the once mighty ENTOMBED and with ex-Cradle of Filth's drummer Nicholas Barker and started a project called LOCK-ON. According to them, it sound like "Terrorizer mixed with the most extreme moments of Napalm Death" . They have already recorded a number of songs and are planning to release them this year. Also, Barney and Danny are preparing to record AND release stuff with their project NOTHING BUT CONTEMPT (N.B.C.) this year too! As we can see, 1999 WILL GRIND TO DEATH!

P.S. I got this info from the Official Napalm Death site.

REDIRECTED ADDRESS

If you think my web address is too long, worry not! I have a redirection URL now: http://listen.to/napalmdeath Just type that and your web browser will bring your right to the main page. Easy enough right? Tell your friends!! Call your mom!!! Warn your little sister about it! Everyone should know!

29.03.99 TV GUESTS/ NEW EP TO COME OUT SOON

Napalm Death are going through a highly successfull tour on the United States, promoting the band's new album WORDS FROM THE EXIT WOUND. They have had a really nice time in England being one of the main attractions of a show called TVI Friday, were our favorite noisemakers played three songs side by side with the likes of Sheryl Crow and Kula Shaker. Also, the band has plans on releasing a EP with some covers on the near future. "Everybody has got the chance to choose one, but we are not going to cover the usual stuff like Discharge, we like them but everyone has done that" says Barney Greenway. The lead growler is probably reffering to betrayer/band Metallica's "Garage Inc." album, which features two Discharge covers. Apparently they are gonna cover some real unusual rare material form some real unusual rare late 80's bands that influenced most of the grind scene. Barney mentioned the possibility of covering and old Death song from the band's demo days that didn't make it to any of the studio records. With that kind of covers in mind, we probably can expect bands like Siege, Repulsion, Nausea, Cryptic Slaughter and other lesser known (but not lesser important) classic grind bands to be on this small tribute. Start your bets.

23.01.99 NEW GRAPHICS/ NEW INFO ON THE BAND'S PAST

Hi there mates hope you all enjoyed a nice new year eve (I know, it's been almost a month, I'm lazy what can I do?). You probably noticed that I made some changes on the main page. I think it looks nicer, cleaner and much better. If you feel like commenting on it with me just do so. I also got some very nice and revealing information on Napalm Death's past by a guy named Stewart Lee and ex ND drummer Mick Harris, both proved to be a great source of rare info and a loud cheers goes out to you mates!!! Check out the results of the talk I had with those witness of the genesis of grind at the updated Biography. ND just finished their concerts with Cradle of Filth/ The Haunted and Krisiun through Europe and the concerts have been really successfull. The new album is getting great reviews everywhere. Well this is it for now, I will write again as soon as something worth mentioning happens...

15.12.98 MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE/ STILL ON TOUR/ MICK HARRIS HELPING THE PAGE

Napalm Death still is out there making some killer live concerts. I plan on making an exclusive interview with some guys/some guy from the band as soon as they are back, so if there is anything you specially want to ask them, tell me and i will see what i can do (i cannot promise anything though). I have recently contacted Mick Harris and he shed some ligth in some trivia/old talk (grinding cheers for that Mick!) and I will soon correct the Napalm Death Biography and members page with some new info. Yeah, there is a missing member on the page, i won't say any names yet but the guy is still (as all the other ex-members) on the music business and he played in the band just before Bill Steer.I already have the new album (thanks very much for that Sarah & Dan, cheers to you both!) and it's really killer with abounding blast beats and brutal riffs. the clean singing happens in only two songs and it fits them very well, not compromising the sheer brutality of the trademark violent Napalm Death sound. More comments and a full review on the near future. Meanwhile, check out the updates on the interviews page, soon, more interviews and record reviews to come. That's all for now, be good lads, behave and maybe santa will bring you something good this christmas!!!! Cheers mates.

26.10.98 EARACHE DID IT: THE NEW ALBUM IS HERE!!!

Words from the exit wound cover

Earache records did it: The new Napalm Death album "Words from the exit wound" will be released TODAY (October 26). It features the following tracks:

The Infiltraitor,
Repression Put of Uniform

Cluthching at Barbs
Incendiary Incoming
Throw Down Rope
Sceptic in Perspective

"Words from the exit wound" is nothing but the best. The new album from the band that gave us "Inside the torn apart". It features some good old blast beats and relentless rapid fury. The main difference is that now Barney is doing SOME CLEAN SINGING!!! Yeah, mixed with the old growls and grunts that we all love, the band's main screaming man has decided to sing with his "normal" voice, taking Napalm Death one step further and challenging the tradition of all grindcore bands. It is a risky step, but, as we all know Napalm Death, only the open-minded will survive, and ND has NEVER dissapointed, so sleep well mates, ND is back with a vengeance, and while expanding the borders of grindcore, they are stil 100% FAITHFULL to the genre they created. Having sold over one million records worldwide, Napalm Death are the champions of grind!!!

07.10.98 NAPALM GETS POLITICAL: DOWN WITH THE NEW LABOUR!!

Once more Napalm Death makes a political statement: the new ND track "The Infiltraitor" deals openly with Tony Blair's (England's prime minister) "New Labour" policy. Apparently, Blair is being called the "Infiltraitor". the track is already available through Earache records on the compilation "Earplugged #3". The new record is still expected to be on the shelves in October, even though a late November/mid December release seems more realistic. Lets see if Earache manages to release the record in the due date. Reportedly, the band also wants to release an EP featuring some covers. More news in the near future.

13.08.98. 'BOOTLEGGED IN JAPAN' KICKS BON JOVI'S ASS!!!!!

Well, 'Bootlegged in Japan' has been released and it seems to be doing awfully well!! In England it is selling better than Iron Maiden's new album, 'Virtual XI' according to the 'Kerrang!!!" magazine of early August 1998. The album ranks a respectable 28 position on the top 40 albums of the week and GOING UP! (the first albu on the chart being Beastie Boys's 'Hello Nasty'). Napalm also beated Pearl Jam's 'Yeld', the X-Files soundtrack, Primus's 'Rhinoplasty' and 'Destination Anywhere' by glam fag Bon Jovi!! ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY GRIND!!!! Go out RIGHT NOW and buy MOSH 209, the first Napalm Death live record since 1990's 'Live Corruption', 'Bootlegged in Japan' is already a classic, and essential to the ND connaisseur.

The 'Hellspawn' album is also doing very well (in spite of ND's disaprooval of the way Earache used their work withouth consulting them). I didn't have access to a copy of it yet, but when I listen to it, i'll let you know if I liked it as soon as I can.

The recording sessions for "Words From The Exit Wound" have been completed. The album now is being mixed by Colin Richardson at the Chapel Studio in Lincoshire. We shall now await 'till October to see the result! Undoubtely Napalm Death will again strike with nothing but the best.

Also, I have finally done some updating on the discography and members pages. Check them out if you can!

16.07.98. EARACHE TECHNO COMPILATION PISSES NAPALM DEATH OFF!

Maybe you heard about it, maybe you didn't but in any case you will now: Earache released a compilation of Grind bands being remixed by techno/electronic outfits in the very same vein of the Spawn soundtrack. The goal is, as it was with the Spawn soundtrack, to mix two underground forms of music and achieve brutal results. Sounds great ha? Well, the problem is that Earache gave Delta 9 the Napalm Death track 'Breed to Breath' to remix and didn't bother to ask the band about it!!! The band has already said that they have NOTHING against Delta 9, but nobody asked them about remixing their work!! It seems that Dig and Earache are in it for the money after all!! (not that I though that they were charities or anything).

Other bands being remixed in the compilation are Morbid Angel, Brutal Truth, Dub War and Godflesh. God knows if those bands allowed those remixes (I know that at least Godflesh did, since the track is being remixed by, oh my-what-a-surprise, J.K. Broadrick). The title of the compilation, fair enough is HELLSPAWN. And actually, it probably is quite good, it is only that they should have asked Napalm about it before putting it on sale.

GEOCITIES PROBLEM:

I'm having some problems with uploading files at Geocities, but the problem is with my computer, not with them. I'll try to solve the problem as soon as possible, but this should take some time. Currently I'm only able to update the news page and the main page, but everything will be solve by August, when I'll post more album reviews, Interviews, etc. Thanks for your patience!

12.06.98 NEW LIVE ALBUM ON THE WORKS:

A Napalm Death live album will be released through Earache records in June 22, 'Bootlegged in Japan'. This is the first live release of the band since both the "Live Corruption" ep and album in 1990. The album was recorded in Japan during the last japanese tour. Some of the tracks in the abum are: Antibody/My Own Worst Enemy/More Than Meets the Eye/Hung/GreedKilling/Suffer the Children/Mass Appeal Madness/Cursed to Crawl/Glimpse into Genocide/I Abstain/Lucid Fairytale/Plague Rages/Cold Forgiveness/Control/Diatribes/Life?/Siege of Power/If the Truth Be Known/Unchallenged Hate/Nazi Punks Fuck Off/From Enslavement to Obliteration/The Kill/Scum/Ripe for the Breaking.

And...a new studio album!!!!

Also, the band is preparing to record a new album which will be probably called "Words From The Exit Wound". The main theme of the album is that words can hurt someone as much as weapons. Some of the new songs are "Affixed By Disconcern", "Cleanse Impure", "Devouring The Depraved", "Thrown Down A Rope", "Insiduary Incomin", "Clutching at Barbs", "The Infiltraitor" and "Next of Kin to Chaos"
It seems that Napalm is going BACK to the blast beat speedy style, after letting the ultragrind a bit to the side with 'Inside the torn apart'. The album is also the first album by the band to feature an intro since 1992's "Utopia Banished" which kind of intro is this, however, remains a mistery (maybe heavy machine noises like in Utopia? Who knows....)
The new album will be released in October, and it is being recorded at the Chapel studio in Linconshire, again under the supervision of hardcore expert Colin Richardson, who has produce three of the band's efforts. Recording begins in June 1 and ends in June 26. However, it seems that Barney is experimenting a little with his vocals, and reportedly we now have some CLEAN SINGING in some tracks!!! Only time will tell if it sounds good. Wait for more news in the near future.....

Also, Mitch Harris is planning a new Meathook Seed album, to be released THIS year.....more later.

"Inside the Torn Apart" is out now!!!!!

(I wrote this sometime in 1997...)

The new Napalm Death album was released in early July, 1997. Produced by noise specialist Colin Richardson, and acclaimed worldwide as the band's best work to date, you should buy it NOW or die!
Also, Barney is back on ND. After being replaced for a while by Phil Vane (of Extreme Noise Terror) our good old grinder is back. More details on the Biography page. Barney, while out of Napalm, recorded a new album with fellow grinders E.N.T. The album, "Damage 381" was also released recently. A lethal injection of pure power and extreme speed (to kill weak alternative trends) the record presents us with nothing less than pure old-fashionade Grindcore, with some deadly deathish bits. Highly recommended by the experts.

BREED TO BREATH SINGLE!!!

For those of you who just can't get enough of Napalm Death, the new single, "Breed to breath" is also avaliable NOW. Featuring four new tracks (only two new if you already own the digipack version of ITA), a cover version of a Napalm Death song by un unsigned band (Greed Killing if you buy the US verion and Suffer the Children for the European one), and a banned video in Quicktime format (Breed to Breath, banned in the USA by MTV's fucked up moralists), this item is a must-have for all true Napalmphilles.
