CRITICISM

 

Sorry, I haven't got much info on this one mates. This was ND'sfirst 'official' release. The first time the band recorded in a studio witha proper production etc. This release by the legendary CRASS label (an earlyanarchist punk band who self-financed and released their records, not allowingprices to go above what they printed on the cover of their records) featuredlots of Punk bands, Napalm Death ended up being the most famous of them.At least the most successful.. The sound of Napalm Death at this time wasnot the insane grindcore that we know today, it was more along the linesof traditional punk/early hardcore, very very much inspired by Crass. NickBullen was the only original member from this recording who got to recordNapalm Death's first album in 1986, when the band had already changed it'ssound a lot. The title of their track here " The Crucifixion of possession"shows what the Anarchist bunch had in mind. At the time, the oldest NapalmDeath member (said to be Nik Bullen) was fifteen years old.

INFORMATION ON THE RELEASE:

This record was released as a double LP in 1984. I have neverheard of a tape or CD edition of it. Crass records do not print this recordanymore, so it is OUT OF PRINT. They are thinking about re-releasing itin the future, but don't count on it. More info can be found at the CRASS RECORDS HOMEPAGE.
