Marie  Masters (Dr. Susan  Stewart)
Marie Masters has been playing the role of Dr. Susan Stewart on As the World Turns since September 1968. As a result, she is one of the longest-running cast members on the CBS daytime drama.
Marie’s numerous theater credits include her Broadway debut in There's a Girl in My Soup. Off-Broadway, she debuted in A Sound of Silence and appeared in Halfway Home and Andrew After Dark. She has also performed in many regional theater productions, including Hay Fever and The Trojan Woman, both at the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven; and The Country Girl, at the Bucks County (Pennsylvania) Playhouse.
Marie has directed off-Broadway productions of Soda Can and Dungeons. She worked as an assistant director on The Monogamist at the Playwrights Horizons, and on the Obie-award-winning production of Ecstasy. At The New Group, a not-for-profit theater, she serves as assistant artistic director.
Television credits include a featured role on the daytime drama Love of Life, and guest-starring roles on the primetime/ series Kate and Allie, King's Crossing, Here's Boomer, and The Secret of Midland Heights. Marie has also appeared on the Lifetime cable series Our Group, HBO's The Babysitters Club, and in dozens of commercials.
Marie's feature film credits include starring roles in Scream for Help and Slayground. She was also featured in the independent film, A Day at the Beach.
Marie was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 4, and received a scholarship to study art history at Marian College in Indianapolis, where she performed in summer stock during her summer breaks. After she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree, she began working on the city desk at Women's Wear Daily and studied acting with Wynn Handman and Uta Hagen.
