Chad Brannon (Zander Smith)
Chad Brannon originated the role of rough-around-the-edges Zander Smith on General Hospital in July, 2000. Zander's intense love for Emily puts his strength to the test as he must deal with saying goodbye to this girl that he loves so completely. Chad's touching portrayal of this troubled teen garnered him a Soap Opera Award for Outstanding Newcomer in July, 2001.
Chad's entrance into the world of acting was anything but typical. His first experience in acting was the result of a dare when he auditioned for a high school play and surprised himself by landing the lead role.
Acting came naturally for Chad and his passion for the craft grew. He continued to perform in high school productions. He went on to study acting at Sam Houston State University and pursued acting professionally in Houston.
Realizing that there was a market for young actors in Hollywood, Chad made the brave choice of moving to Los Angeles. His first role, an appearance in Chicken Soup for the Soul came in 1999. That small role was followed by guest-starring appearances on JAG, Undressed, Malcolm in the Middle, and Days of Our Lives.
Chad resides in Los Angeles and spends his free time skydiving and rock-climbing.
