Scott  DeFreitas (Andy  Dixon)
Scott DeFreitas joined the cast of As the World Turns in 1984, in the role of troubled teenager Andy Dixon. Having left the show in 1995, DeFreitas returned in the fall of 1997. Recently, Andy discovered that his one-night stand with Denise Maynard resulted in the birth of a daughter.
The actor, born on September 9 in Boston, Massachusetts, spent the early part of his life in nearby Hudson. His family, which includes three younger brothers, relocated to Connecticut where he graduated from the King School, a prep school.
Scott made his New York stage debut in the Albert Innaurato play Coming of Age in SoHo at the New York Shakespeare Festival's Public Theatre. His portrayal of Andy has led to Daytime Emmy nominations in 1988, 1992 and 1994 for Outstanding Younger Lead Actor in a Daytime Drama.
Scott is married to fellow cast member, Maura West (Carly). The two are the proud parents of Joseph Peter (b. 3/29/2000). Scott enjoys all sports, especially hockey, baseball, golf and skiing.
