How To React To Getting Hurt
Psalms 133, Matthew 18:15-17
NOTES
Unity has always been a major problem with God's people.
Old Testament- Civil wars and family fights.
New Testament- churches had division. Some were suing each other. I Cor. 6
It is still a problem today. WHY??? We still live in bodies of flesh. Getting saved did nothing to help the flesh. (Galatians5: 17)
Churches still split.
Most church problems start out as a problem between 2 people. But because it is not handled Biblically, it ends up with 20 on one side and 30 on the other.
What does Matthew 18 teach??????
1- the offended is to initiate the contact. It should not stay inside (church). This is a command and not a suggestion.
2- Keep it private.
3- the purpose of going to the offender is to gain him back.
4- if offender will not listen, then go back with 1 or 2 witnesses.
5- if that doesn't work, then tell the whole church.
What started as a private problem between 2 people is now before the whole church!!!!!!!!
If the offender still doesn't do right, then treat him like the unsaved.
LESSON
God will bless our effort to obey Scripture in this particular area
