Temptation
When we talk about temptation, I believe the Bible speaks of the Lust of the Flesh. Everyone deals with temptation. The Bible tells us not to put ourselves in a position where we are forced to deal with temptation. The Devil himself will tempt us into doing things that we should not do. He will make it look as though it is great, satisfing, raise our desire, etc. Once we give into the Lust of the Flesh, we become a slave to sin. If we keep ourselves in GOD'S WORD and stay away from those things that the LORD wants us to stay away from. Then and only then, we can overcome the Lust of the Flesh (temptation).
James 1: 13-17
13. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of GOD: for GOD cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth HE any man:
14. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16. Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the FATHER of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
WILL SIN SILENCE THE CONSCIENCE!

having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed

TO SATISFY THE LUST OF THE FLESH
There are those who keep deep dark secrets. I personally know the LORD will reveal those deep dark secrets. For one to do something they know is wrong and think no one will ever find out (Luke 12:2-3). It is just a matter of time. The LORD knows everything, even your thoughts (Job 42:2). Remember HE is the beginning, the end, and everything in between. A christian is not perfect, they are going to make mistakes. But as you grow with the LORD, your mistakes are to become less. You should be working harder to keep from making those mistakes. But if you continue to do what is wrong in GOD'S eyes to satisfy your own flesh (lust of the flesh). Well lets see what the Bible says about "Lust of the Flesh":
Ps. 81:12; Jas. 1:13-15; 1 Cor. 10:6; 2 Pet.1:4, 2:10; 1 John 2:16-17; Gal. 5:16-17; Pr. 6:25; Jas. 4:5-6; Mk. 4:19; Rom. 1:24, 6:12-13, 13:13-14; Gal. 5:24-25; Eph. 4:22-23; 1 Tim. 6:9; Tit. 3:3; 1 Pet. 1:14, 4:2; 2 Pet. 2:18; Jude 16
COVETING
This is one of the 10 Commandments, and a common thing a lot of people deal with. Wanting more than what GOD allows us to have, yes that is coveting. Just because someone has something you want and can't have, doesn't mean you should use every means to get a hold of it. What I mean by this is lying, cheating, stealing or what ever! GOD will provide for us our needs (Phil. 4:19) as well as our wants. Now there may come a time you want something and GOD will not allow you to have it. Yes, it does happen, HE has HIS reasons as to why HE won't give it to you. You may not understand why now, but over time you will understand. So don't get angry with HIM, if you don't get what you want from HIM. HE looks out for you in every way. Here is some scripture on Covetousness: Mk. 7:22; Rom. 1:29; Eph. 5:3; Heb. 13:5
Exodus 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet
thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his
ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
Deuteronomy 5:21 Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour's wife, neither shalt
thou covet thy neighbour's house, his field, or his manservant, or his
maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour's.
Micah 2:2 And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and
take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his
heritage. {oppress: or, defraud}
Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not
known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou
shalt not covet. {lust: or, concupiscence}
Romans 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou
shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if
there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying,
namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
1 Corinthians 12:31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a
more excellent way.
1 Corinthians 14:39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
