SABINE EL ASMAR, a third year medical laboratory student, interviewed her classmate MAYA AKOURI, a second year physical therapy student, in order to discover her personality.Here are the questions:
1) If you had the opportunity to change your life, what would you like to be?
MAYA answered that she doesn’t want to change her whole life, only certain bad events that took place in it.
2) In your opinion, what does a friend mean?
MAYA told me that a friend, in her opinion, is a person who knows her and likes her as she is. It is a person who is always ready to help her out without any interest but her own good.
3) What interests you the most when you meet a new person?
A lot of things interest MAYA in the new person she meets. Most of all , she likes to discover his personality as well as she can. To reach this objective, she often counts on eye contact which is very important and essential.
4) What kind of films do you prefer, and why ?
MAYA likes to watch romantic films. She thinks that these films include a lot of sense; they treat love stories with a lot of emotional feelings. This atmosphere goes with her very sensitive personality.
5) What is your favorite saying ?
She believes in the following saying:
"Speech is silver, but silence is gold."
She likes this proverb because she doesn’t like to speak a lot. She believes that she can think much better in silence than in noise.6) What does the color BLUE represent for you?
In the first place, blue represents the color of the sea. In fact, MAYA likes the sea a lot because watching it gives her the sense of freedom, comfort, and peace.
7) Do you normally let others start the conversation?
Most of the time, MAYA prefers that others start the conversation. She likes that they choose the subject of the conversation they want, and she will share her opinion with them. In fact, she doesn’t like to talk much.
8) Are you usually "up-to-date" on everyday affairs?
MAYA is not always "up-to-date". In fact, she doesn’t like watching TV or the news. She isn’t interested in everything new. On the other hand, she cares for scientific news more than anything else.
9) Do you often "sit and think" about death, sickness, pain, and sorrow?
Usually when she sits alone, all these ideas cross her mind, especially nowadays, because she has lost her uncle lately. (I am sorry to hear this.) Of course, it is always questions without any answers.
10) Do you usually tend to hide your feelings?
Sometimes, MAYA hides her feelings. She doesn’t like to let others worry about her problems; she thinks that they have enough problems of their own. Knowing this, she only tells her problems to her close friend.
After this interesting interview, I tried to draw a synthesis about MAYA’s personality.
Here is what I came up with:
MAYA is a nice and sensitive person. She is calm, kind, but mysterious. She has a sweet smile. She likes to live a happy, free, and serene life. She doesn’t like to talk much; in other words, she prefers that others begin the conversation, and if she has some interesting ideas to share she is glad to do it. She is satisfied with her life. She likes what she’s doing. She likes having trustful friends, and she depends on eye contact to discover a new person's personality. What is special in her is that she doesn't like to let others worry about her problems; she thinks they’ve got enough. On the other hand, I think she is hiding something behind her lovely face. In fact, you can notice this by looking through her eyes. I hope that someday a special person will discover her hidden mystery…
