My trust is something you can't find,
Can't buy it, steal it, or seduce it.
Caution is foremost in my mind,
But I'll listen if you ask me to.

*My friendship you desire to keep,
*Desire to own it, hold it, and control it.
*I'll stay on guard both wake and sleep,
*But I'll stand by you to the end.

My heart is something you can't take,
*My love is what was torn from me,
Can't have it, snatch it, or capture it.
*What was attacked, abused, and hurt.
I shield my heart so it won't break,
*I'm now used to being lonely,
But my arms are open if you need me.
*But my heart is open if you need me.
