Sometimes I what you think about.
Besides your cure, I mean.
Eyes so distant,
Mourning, sorrows, death of a soul,
How lost inside you must be.
Open up to me, let lose you fear,
Let me see.

I don't want you to get too close,
Else you learn the monster
I am within.
Your eyes pan across mine
And I become distant, thinking and hoping,
yet frightened of you.
Let me be.

Why do you shy away from my touch?
I try to get close, but you
only want to be distant.
Why so distant, my love and heart?
I see that hope within your eyes,
Yet you still push me away.
Let me know.

I'll be hurt by you, I know,
Because fire will always melt ice,
and fire can only burn
I may break down,
I may fall apart.
Within that fiery grasp,
Let me go.

But I only want to help you!

How I wish you could.

But I only want to hold you!

How I wish you would.

Then why do you push me away?
I love you as I know you love me.

Because I know too well.
Those who I let inside
End up as lost as me.

Paula: What do you think? Angsty, I know, but I'm proud of it.
