My Red Deer wants this to be a fun and friendly place where you can meet others from the Red Deer area, have nice conversations, and make friends. In order to keep it that way, we have had to set up the following RULES and guidelines for this room. Please read and follow them.
Use the IGNORE USER feature!
If there is a troublemaker in the room, please use and encourage others to click the checkbox to IGNORE THIS PERSON. If nobody can see what the person is writing, it's like they are not even there!
DO NOT USE ALL CAPS!
It means you're a yelling, it's hard to read, it's considered rude, and it makes you look like a total NEWBIE on the internet! You will generally receive a warning to turn off your caps lock such as "lc!" (lower case!), but if you continue, you will be kicked out of the room for disrupting the chat.
If you are having trouble reading the small type, please make it larger with the following command typed directly in the text window of the chat room, starting with the asterisk:*chat fontsize 12 (or 14 or whatever size is easy for you to read).
No name calling, racial slurs, insulting, or abusive treatment of others!
You may be expelled or banned immediately without warning for this behavior.
No Cybersex!
If we find someone "looking" for cybersex or discussing cybersex, we will ban them from the My Red Deer site with little to no warning. This page of rules may be ALL the warning you get.
No Scrolling the room
Please do not waste bandwidth by scolling the room with senseless messages and quotes from songs or irritating trivia.
No Cursing!
We may have young chatters in the room, so keep your language acceptable. Using vulgar language and obscenities is grounds for being immediately expelled or banned from the room with little or no warning. This also includes vulgar nicknames, sexually explicit nicknames and any other nickname people might find offensive. You may not be asked to change your name if it is particularly explicit--you may be banned instantly.
No Impersonating a HOST!
Do not add "HOST" or "ADM" to your nickname. You will be banned for pretending to be rodeoADM, Connie, Wildfire, or Tatanka or adding HOST or ADM to your name, as well as misrepresenting yourself. If someone is claiming to be a HOST, all you have to do is highlight their name and click the User Info button to see if they are an Admin or a Standard User. Don't be fooled!
