Remember that "ugliest color scheme ever" contest between Hasbro Europe and Takara during late G1 I'd mentioned in reference to Slicer?
Meet the winner. Hasbro Europe wins with Action Master Thundercracker.
(Though after nearly a decade, Takara comes back swinging for the fences with the their Micron Booster version of the Sea Team Mini-Cons. Day-glo green with bright lemon yellow. I can't properly focus on them.)
At any rate, such an eye-searing combination of colors was distubingly easily obtainable through normal Citadel Colours. Maybe it's the food over there, I don't know.
Of course, I'm using the color layouts straight from the Action Master, rather than translating them to be "accurate" to the original SkyRaider toy. I might do that later, should I run out of other things to do with this paritcular mold. (I've got a LOT of them on the way from the OTFC store.)
I'm so glad the wings plug into the holes in his arms that were meant for his rifles. Makes him that much closer to his Action Master form.
The rifles I painted that lavender color to approximate the weapons that came with AM Thunder's exo-suit vehicle. It seemed appropriate. They store nicely on his back, very Action-Master-backpack-style.
I didn't realize the lavender was a near-dead-on match for the Air Warriors' lavender. Oh well.
The gold helmet had to be painted with the "glob" technique; just dolloping a big blob of paint and spreading it a little bit, letting it thin out on its own. Maybe I should be applying primer or something to these before painting do I don't have to do that.
