I'm convinced that during the final years of Generation 1 in Europe, Hasbro UK was challenging their designers to come up with the most hideously garish color schemes possible. Takara took a few stabs at that themselves, but they went with bright primary colors more than anything else, relying mainly on downright patriotic color schemes of red, white and blue. Which is ugly in it's own right, but....

Few things compare to the Eurpoean-exclusive TFs for sheer gaudiness. Pastels and neon tones galore. Mmmm boy. Slicer here (a Decepticon recolor of Action Master Wheeljack) isn't the worst of them, what with the lack of bright neon green. But he ranks pretty high. Or low, I suppose, depending on how you look at it.

For those who do not yet have the Wheeljack PVC, I'd like to point out a mild design flaw. He has a shoulder-mounted missile launcher, but he cannot have that and be facing forward at the same time, thanks to his "ears". I also had to fight the launcher just to get the damned thing IN his shoulder mount. Eventually I trimmed a little bit of the peg down with nail clippers to get the mofo in there.

There's really not much to be said about the painting of this one. The gold isn't giving me much trouble anymore. I put it in its place. Yeah.

The leg deco was outlined with paint on toothpicks, then filled in with a normal brush.

I painted those... whatevers on the sides of his biceps purple just for variety. Anyone have any clue that those are supposed to be? Seems to me like they'd interfere with the range of motion of his arms. Then again, the classic show models were pretty poorly-designed anyway, I feel.

Liquid Velcro! had a great observation on this. With those red wings on his back, he looks a lot like Tranzor Z.
