One of the oddities of late Euro-G1 is Rescue Force, recolors of four of the six Japanese BreastForce (yeah, yeah, ha ha, get those giggles out now) toys. Not only were two team members dropped (the guys who formed the arms of the combined mode LioKaiser), but so were all their accessories (yep, including the head to the combined mode), which were replaced with entirely new ones. And they were changed from Decepticons to Autobots. And they weren't given individual names.

Way back when, I gave them names. Like, '95 or so. All arbitrarily female characters. Guard Angel (LeoZack/jet), Flashfire (Jargua/buggy), Piston (Killbison/claw-tank) and Cave-In (Drillhorn/drill-tank). I suppose I should name the final two that got made up simply for this PVC... Airlift (Hellbat/jet/left arm) and Smokejumper (Gaihawk/jet/right arm). It amused me to find web-sites years afterwards that were saying those were the actual official names given to the toys. I'm flattered, but that ain't true.

For the PVC, I just pulled the arm units' colors out of thin air, though I tried to stick with ones that would work with the rest of the team. I think it works.

This is the first PVC I did any kind of "major" physical alterations to. The jointed staff the original LioKaiser PVC has is awkward at best, and really, really not fitting here. It was a good chance to put the Xacto set I got for Christmas last year to some real good use. Chopping the staff off from the underside of the fists was easy, but cutting away the bits by the thumbs was a little trickier. I managed to cut most of it away. the whole thing balances a lot easier without it.

My attempts to paint the yellow-and-black stripes the toys have onto the PVC were a disaster. I eventually gave up. They just looked bad.

Speaking of looking bad, the yellow continues to streak and clump. I loathe it. I've yet to find a yellow paint that behaves properly.
