I really love Powerlinx Red Alert's coloring. We see lots of police, fire and medical emergency vehicle decos... but never really any coastal rescue stuff. Charlie Chopper from the now-defunct Transformers 1-2-3 kids' line is the only other one what springs to mind.
About the only thing I'm not wild about is the clear-black plastic; I think it would have been better-looking as clear-blue. Espceially since they used clear-paint on his visor and roof-lights. Ah well.
Red Alert's PVC is one that makes me sad, because... it's so close to great. The biggest problem is pretty obvious. That damned left arm. It just sticks straight out, scarecrow-like. It looks frankly terrible.
This might not be so bad if you could get him into a better "aiming" pose, but the backpack and leg-parts are so close that you really can't take advantage of the waist joint at all.
Any rate, painting this one was difficult in places. I had to go over parts several times with the white, especially within the wheel hubs. And then go over the other colors in the same spots when the white spread to where it wasn't supposed to be.
Red's bumper-thingy and hubcaps are a silvery-blue color that Citadel doesn't make. Then again, I haven't been to the hobby store in a fair while, it's very possible someone else does. I'll likely re-do those bits later on.
The "RESCUE" was, natch, toothpick work. It didn't line up as nice as I'd have liked.
Man, I wish the Armada PVCs had come with their Mini-Cons. I really do.
