Ghehehehehehehehehehehheheheheheheheheheheheh.

Anyway, this one was HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH.

Sorry.

As you can see (snerk), this one's a heavily toy-based version of Ratchet, both in color and in form. I loathe the cartoon models for Ratchet and Ironhide. They are the epitome of failing to remotely resemble the items they were based on and meant to advertise. That they are also little more than a detail-devoid pile of rectangles, a design scheme from the Captain Video "Tobor" era of kneeless lumbering cheapass cardboard terrors doesn't help. And then the PVC sculpters took it a step further by screwing up the proportions further, adding some Torgo to the Tobor.

The pewter Ratchet I got had no head, which suited my purposes just fine. I simply sliced off the peg that held the head on (which was then used as part of another alteration). I have no idea what I'd have done with the head.

The arms are probably my most ambitious alteration to date, by which I mean "not very". At their normal positioning, they were too high up on his body for the head-behind-windshield construction. So I sliced the pegs off the torso and put them into the arm sockets, then used the same method I use to reattach broken-off pegs, as I did with Emissary; a snipped-off sharp piece of paper clip.

I really should do a mini-page on that process. But until I do, I'll just note that it's a good idea to prepare holes for the clip with thumbtacks. Leave 'em in the plastic for about an hour so the plastic adjusts enough to let the clip in without much of a fight.

I was originally going to paint the black face on the windshield, but thanks to the PVC's crappy proportions, it just didn't work with his tiny torso. So I went to the box-art and the odd "eyes" on his windshield. At that point... why not give him the stigmata-cross on his palm too?

As for Buster... not much to say there. I suppose I could have Dremeled down his boot cuffs so he looks less like he's wearing pants meant for someone a foot longer in the leg than him, but it's not really that noticable. The eyes were toothpick work again.

All in all... I like this set a lot. It makes me laugh.
