Okay, remember how I said Sunbend was the most obscure HOCH I ever did?

I lied. This is it, baby.

I don't think anyone noticed this sumbitch for twenty years. I mean this literally. Nobody in the fandom probably ever even realized he was there all this time. True, video capture tech wasn't that great for most of that, nor were there any really great clear copies of More Than Meets The Eye for a while....

And then Monzo of the Obscure Transformers Webpage was rummaging through his DVD screenshots of unnamed generics, and said in chat one night "Hey, has anyone noticed..."

Monz scares me sometimes.

This, of course, made him absolutely perfect for the final gag of the "Unsung Decepticons" skit in last year's MSTF. I mean, wow. Also, man, the reaction to it was great. Not only did we unveil something genuinely new, but a great running gag had a hell of a wrap-up.

Which of course, was the inspiration for the character I actually slapped onto him. Only sillier. The head cases are a lot more fun.

What's to say about painting him? Not a lot, really. Like Jetstream, I followed the HOC Sunstorm color arrangement. There's just enough of this guy barely visible to figure he follows the same (poor) color arrangement as the three. So I went with it.

The face and wing-stripes are the Skull White & Fortress Gray mix once again. Getting a lot of mileage out of that, though I'm sure there's a Poly Scale paint of the right shade.

This one I had to to shoulder surgery on his left arm, as the peg had snapped clean off in the socket. Pewter PVCs seem to have a problem with that. Snipped thumbtack serves as the replacement peg this time. It's what I had.

I can now re-create that whole scene in PVC, and I'm tempted to start getting some foamboard or whatever and go for it. True, there's no Cybertronian Wheeljack van-mode PVC. But close enough for government work.
