You know, I've really come to like the name "Nemesis Prime". It's got the same flow as "Optimus Prime", and evokes the "imus" portion in a completely non-stupid way. I've always thought "Rodimus" was a stupid, stupid name, and really do not like the slapping of "-imus Prime" onto random names that seems so popular when people decide to make up some new Prime. But "Nemesis Prime" just works so very very well, and uses real words instead of made-up faux-Latin crap.

Which is only a slight mitigation of him being another damn evil black clone. I hate evil black clone non-characters.

Ichikawa tried to make him a little more interesting with his brief appearance in Linkage, which I've reflected in the bio card. But still.

No, I don't know why he has an Intelligence of 9. I used the tech-specs from the Japanese release, but went with the Dreamwave MTMTE quote since it matched the actual protrayal more. Seeing as he was portrayed as little more than a mindless killing machine possibly under Sideways' control... I don't know. Maybe he is smart, but just has his brains suppressed by Unicron's will.

I was adamant in not wanting to paint Nemesis's main body black. I wanted something close, but not plain Chaos Black. I mean, the toy isn't. I ended up using Midnight Blue, which is richer than the toy's plastic, but it works quite well. It's very close to black without being black.

Also, points must go to Hasbro for giving the Nemesis toy off-tan parts rather than just transplanting RiD Scourge's colors straight. It adds some much-needed contrast, a hint of decay, and remains evocative of the original color scheme without being a lame copy. Rather like the toys' name! Hey!

I would have done Nemesis a lot earlier, but the case of ACT-9 SCFs I got from HLJ was... interesting to say the least. I didn't get a color Prime... I actually got the chase Cybertronian Prime! Which is great, I love that design. I'd like to get the Cybertronian Megatron too, but not sure I want to pay the going rate.

The pewter Prime that came in the box, however, had two left biceps. Which did me no good. So I had no normal Armada Prime PVC at all. It wasn't until several months later when I grabbed a few sets of color/pewters at dirt-cheap from... uh... hell, I can't seem to find who had them for sale. I got a lot of little 2-sets of spares that way. Oh well.
