Not sure why I didn't think of this one sooner, really. I guess he got lost in the maze of Air Warriors.
But yes, another entry into the wonderful world of SkyRaider PVC recolors, and one that doesn't end up looking too much like Thundercracker, as I'd originally worried.
It seemed only logical to use the same paint layouts as HOC Sunstorm for Jetstream, since they're based on the recolored G1 toy which is based on that yellow guy on the left-hand side of the screen capture the source for this repaint is in. I mean, they have almost exactly the same layouts in animation.
I mean, Flamethrower Purple Man there, if you "corrected" his color layouts to something more toy/model-accurate is basically an Air Warrior. Whoopeeeeeee.
Those guys are colored pretty randomly, aren't they?
I think the slightly-darker blue chest really adds something to him. I'm glad the HOC Sunstorm added that extra shade of orange.
Even though it was already painted, I went over his noggin again. The paint on the HOCs is a little iffy at times when it comes to the SkyRaiders' heads, so I painted the whole thing over so the more matte paint wouldn't show up against the shinier prepainted parts. Also, the faux-light-pipe eye thing had to go too, which meant repainting the face...
As for character... for a minute, I debated making him a counterpoint to Sunstorm. An ice-based, emotionless, intensely rational being. With super-powers.
Then I worked up a huge air burp, felt better, and went with the schmuck you see in the bio above. Why try and fail to replicate the creamy goodness of Sunstorm?
