I love Geoff Senior.

Yes, I know his stat numbers are screwed up. But those are his G2 stats. I don't think it makes any sense either, but really, It's not like Stepper or Powerlinx Cyclonus where I can change them because they're supposed to be different from the versions their existing stats depict.

A more toy-based color arrangement, from his third scheme in the G2 series. I like the dark blue a lot better than the turquoise. Though to be honest, Slag and Snarl's new color schemes ended up better-looking than Grim's.

I used a different brand of paint for the blue, since the Hungates I stopped into didn't carry Citadel Colours (well, they did, but only as bit multipacks), and I really wasn't in the mood to make any more stops that day. I'm really not sure about it, to be honest. Bits of him STILL are slightly damp, even after being painted well over 24 hours before the pictures were taken. It was a bit thin in places, too. This might just be due to the clear-PVC material he's made of, I admit. Generally, Tamiya's paints have proven good for detail work, but for large expanses... I dunno.

The gold paint continues to give me crap. I tried a different technique with the neck and claws, painting them REALLY thin (but as even as possible), letting it dry, then doing it again, and again. I stopped after the fifth layer, since it didn't seem to be making any difference. It looks a LITTLE better, but the light still shines through it, revealing unevenness. Though that actually WORKS for his neck, since that was smoky-clear plastic covereing chrome gold anyway.

Either that stuff just doesn't wanna stick, or Games Workshop figured nobody'd use their golds for anything more than small detailing.

On that note, I used the darker Shining Gold on the neck to try and capture some of that look. I bought it by accident, hoping it'd match Armada Optimus' gold (I still haven't gotten around to finishing up his detail painting). It didn't. I figured I might as well get SOME use out of it.

Heheheheh. BiG GRiM. That was painted the same way I paint the sigils and eyes on my Mini-Cons; a dab of paint on a thin toothpick, lightly applied. Made sure to check Transformers Generation 2 #10 to make sure I got the lettering right. If they ever do a new t-rex Grimlock, I hope it has that little tattoo on it.

If it doesn't, I'm adding it.
