Ah, Glyph. BotCon '02 exclusive, and a pretty one at that. Amazing that with the sheer number of times this mold was recolored (mainly in South America), this was the first time the black parts were, well, NOT black.
I ws actually just gonna do a red Bumblebee first. Thank you, Liquid Velcro!, for instantly reminding me of this far more interesting option.
The blue is actually darker than it appears in these pictures. But I'm still fiddling with this camera and its flash and everything. On a side note, Enchanted Blue is PERFECT for the Mini-Con sigil. I've painted up all my Minis' sigils... well, some get silver since there are some with whom a blue sigil won't show up well. Oh, and the Speed Chasers get red ones.
The Codex Gray turned out darker than I wanted, which seems to be a theme with the paints. While I did get a lighter Fortress Gray later that ended up a much closer match to the toy, I didn't really like the idea of adding another layer of paint, in the fear that it might obscure some of the molded detail. So I only painted over the smooth, featureless parts. Gave her a little variety.
Yeah, I tried to pull a Destructicon Bludgeon and painted the bridge of her nose to give her a really half-assed visor. Didn't turn out too well, I think. Partially because yellow doesn't show up against the gold well at all, but that's the color her visor is in her card art, so who am I to change it?
I'm not wild about her having a gun, but I didn't much care for Bumblebee having it either. And I didn't really have a suitable reaplacement fist.
