Citadel Colours Paints
Chaos Black, Codex Gray, Hawk Turquoise, Skull White, Boltgun Metal, Blood Red, Golden Yellow

I have a real fondness for this color arrangement. And it really has little to nothing to do with the colors themselves... though they are indeed nice.

I like how it's an official, totally new Demolishor color scheme that was never ever applied to the original Demolishor toy. Created for the Built To Rule series.

I then wanted to see the actual toy done up in these colors. Which will probably never happen. I keep hearing Aaron's keen on the mold being done in G1 Sixshot colors first; that being what he originally wanted for his Powerlinx form. But instead we got that weird deco Takara came up with. And then after that the Energon redeco, which does look nice, but that further delays G1-Sixshot-like Demolishor, never mind Night Attack. So I'll settle for my PVC.

And maybe that spare Demolishor I got back at the BotCon 2002 dinner, which I then cannibalised to give the Demolishor I already had two launchers.

Again, maybe once I'm not sick of full-body repainting things and have taken care of more pressing projects.

At the time I had painted this, we'd seen pictures of the BTR set in catalogs... but nobody had seen the set in-stores, and it was doubtful we ever would. So my colors aren't as accurate to the set that did eventually come out (and at a whopping $2, thank you Toys Backwards-R Us!) as I'd like. The blue isn't dark enough, and what I thought was white ended up that off-white gray, which I made up as a mix of Fortress Gray and Skull White for King Skywarp.

Man, that Boltgun Metal is pretty.

They are damn close to the Night Attack Team's colors, tho. I'm half-tempted to touch-up Demolishor's paint... and the other-half-tempted to just dig up another spare Demolishor and ground-up repaint him in BTR-accurate shades.

I'm leaning heavily toward the latter.

I actually shot the pictures for this outside at night. Which meant I kind of had to just aim the camera and hope I was getting the whole thing in the frame, since I couldn't see anything in the little screen. The sand was still wet from rain a few dyas before, making it darker and redder than I'd wanted... but oh well.

On the subject of Built To Rule... good concept But man oh man, were the Trans-Skeleton bases a big mistake. Thankfully, they didn't give up, and Energon's BTR sets abandon the Trans-Skeleton system, making the robot mode look so much nicer. I'm looking forward to decking out Scorponok with lots of Lego guns.
