I love Energon. So much that it's making me seriously consider paying double-retail for the Super Link recolors of Demolishor and Cyclonus, even though I'm pretty damned certain we will be seeing them in the US.

But Cyclonus and especially Demolishor are so damned entertaining in the show, I want them now. I mean, Demolishor is a Decepticon working with his hated enemies the Autobots... because it was the will of his fallen leader, and he's gonna uphold that will, dammit. And now he's torn with following what he knows his leader ordered and the dim promise from some mysterious other force that Megatron will be revived... he doesn't know what to do. Great stuff.

So great that frankly, the Energon repaint of this PVC shot from the bottom of the small list of potential repaints right to the top. I'd been waffling between Powerlinx and "Night Attack" colors based on the Built To Rule set that's supposed to be out (but damned if anyone's seen it), plus I already had Cyclonus in bright green.

The black paint did some interesting things to his gunfingers and missiles. He's actually got acrylic paint "web" between his upper thumbs and fingers now, as the PVC had bent those bits together in the box, close enough for the paint to conenct. I've used an Xacto to separate what I could.

The Bilious Green for some reason streaked more than it did for Cyclonus, not applying as evenly. I don't know what's going on. I've been over it a few more times with thin layers to even out bits.

The "safety bars" yellow-and-black thing turned out much better than my attempts to do the same on Rescue Savior, despite being on a series of raised surfaces. Maybe it's just because it was a larger area, or my had just happened to be steadier that day.

It's time for a new bottle of Bad Moon Yellow, I think. It's starting to thicken, and not come out so easy.

Maybe it needs more fiber.
