So I decide that Sunstorm and the Air Warriors need another friend. So I go digging for more background Skyraider color schemes from the cartoon. As it turns out, pretty much EVERY other generic out there is either a shade-variant of Thundercracker/Air Warrior, or single-color hideousness ("Divide and Conquer"). Gee.

Thankfully, "The Ultimate Doom" actually gave us a damn NICE-looking pine green jet, so here he is. I guess he's "Airstrike". That's generic-Decepticon-jetty enough.

The Dark Angels Green turned out much darker than I expected once it dried, certainly a lot darker than it appears in the bottle and on that lying little slip of paper. I really don't trust those color guides anyway. They've never been right, save for solid white and solid black. So If you're gonna do this, I suggest going a shade lighter, whatever the hell it is. Marine Booger Green or whatever.

The dark green poses some diffculties with the sigil decals. I really didn't want to use an outlined sigil, since the only time you see them on the originals is when it's the red Autobot sigil on a red backdrop. But the clear-backed sigils I use for pretty much everyone else practically vanish against a dark background.

Fortress Gray ends up just a shade darker than the paint used on the other jet PVCs, but ah hell. It's a happy medium and good for other repaints.

Painting those eyes and face was a bitch. Did the eyes first, just slathering in the red paint, then going over the face with the gray, then the black helmet around that... and then touching up the gray where black paint got where it shouldn't.
