Updated 2/24/00 : Two more Racing Champions MegaMan X4 race cars!

MEGAMAN CARTOON MERCHANDISE

In 1995, the MegaMan cartoon hit the realm of syndicated programming. Naturally, there were toys to accompany it. Despite doing very well in the ratings (#1 in several areas), the show was cancelled after two seasons.

SERIES 1 (Assortment #2720)

- MegaMan with firing MegaBuster and plasma fireball
- Rush with clip-on Rush jets
- ProtoMan with firing ProtoStriker and plasma fireball
- GutsMan with Super Arm lifting action & fire hydrant
- CutMan with firing Rolling Cutter and giant scissors
- BombMan with bomb-tossing action and Hyper Bomb

SERIES 2 (#2720)

- ElecMan with firing arm cannon and Thunder Beam
- SnakeMan with firing arm cannon and Search Snake
- BrightMan with firing arm cannon and Flash Stopper bulb
- DrillMan with firing arm cannon and Drill Bomb (arms are not removable, so don't try it)

MEGAMAN'S AIR RAIDER (#2726)

The only vehicle made in the line, featured in the first episode of the cartoon. Available only for a while before Series 2. Features a front-mounted missile launcher and a trigger-activated rear propeller, with a flip-out handle for "flying" the Fighter. Seats MegaMan or any other figure with the same general build.

PVC FIGURINES (#2710)

Shortly before the release of the normal-sized figures, Bandai released twelve 1 1/2-inch figurines based on the character designs from the syndicated cartoon. These figures were available in sets of two.

    - MegaMan & Dr. Wily
    - MegaMan & IceMan
    - MegaMan & FireMan
    - Dr. Light & GutsMan
    - Roll & CutMan
    - Rush & ElecMan
    - ProtoMan & BombMan
A second series of figurines was planned, most likely featuring the Robot Masters from MegaMan 2 and Bass, but those were canceled with the rest of the line.

MEGAMAN X

Shortly before the line's cancellation, a series of figures based on the MegaMan X games were available in some test market areas. These are very hard to find, and are true "Holy Grails" in any Mega-fan's collection.
I have heard rumors that many of the MegaMan X toys were "available" in cheap ripoff form. No confirmation of any of this, though.

    - X
    - Zero
    - Vile
    - Sigma
    - Nightmare Police Bit
    - Nightmare Police Byte

UNRELEASED FIGURES & TOYS

The MegaMan line was canceled with many toys in the works or on the drawing boards. They are listed here to show what could have been. I have heard rumors that many of the unreleased toys were made as prototypes, and that some of these figures were "available" in cheap ripoff form. No confirmation of this, though.

    - Dive MegaMan, Sky MegaMan, Stealth MegaMan (#2720) : These three figures are based on the new armors seen during the cartoon's second season.
    - Bass, Roll, Brain Bot, Eddie, PharaohMan, SlashMan, FireMan, IceMan, ProtoMan w/ "BreakMan" mask
    - MegaMan's Land Blazer (#2740) : This one-bot vehicle appeared many times in the cartoon's second season. I have heard some claims that it was actually released, but according to a Bandai-released schedule, it was due to be out after the canceled special-armor MegaMan figures, leading me to believe it was never on the shelves. Until I see a photograph of the toy proper (or get official confirmation form Bandai), this item shall continue to be under the "unreleased" section.
    - Skullker : Dr. Wily's hovercraft. Was to come with a Dr. Wily figure.
    - Deluxe 8-inch Light & Sound MegaMan (#2728) : With a light-up MegaBuster cannon.
    - Playset (#2727) : I don't have any real details on this, just that one was slated for release around the same time as the Land Blazer.

VIDEOTAPES

Each tape contains two episodes from the first season of the cartoon series. These can still be found for sale in some chain video stores, like Suncoast and Blockbuster.

    - "The Beginning" & "Electric Nightmare"
    - "The Big Shake" & "Mega-Pinnochio"
    - "Robosaur Park" & "The Ice Age"
    - "20,000 Leaks Under the Sea" & "The Strange Island of Dr. Wily"

CHINESE LASERDISCS

Four episodes of the American cartoon series on a disc, dubbed into one Chinese dialect with subtitles in a second.

    - Volume 1 : "The Beginning", "Electric Nightmare", "The Big Shake' & "Mega-Pinnochio"

SOUNDTRACK - Atlantic 82890-2

None of the actual music from the series (which had some pretty good background music), these songs were only heard during the ending credits of the second season episodes. No, "Mega Man Theme" isn't the show's opening music. There are a few good selections (like "Driver" and "So Far, So Good... So What"), but most of the songs REALLY lean heavily toward hard metal and rap, which REALLY don't fit with the more lighthearted feel of the cartoon.

    TRACK LISTING
    1) "Driver" - The Hollowbodies
    2) "Eileen" - Skid Row
    3) "She" - Smile
    4) "Iron Mic" - Sugar Ray
    5) "Realms Of Junior Mafia Pt. 2" - Junior M.A.F.I.A.
    6) "Tryst" - Machines of Loving Grace
    7) "Sinnerman" - Extra Fancy
    8) "So Far, So Good... So What" - CIV
    9) "Take Cover" - Mr. Big
    10) "Got Myself Together" - The Bucketheads
    11) "Signs, I Can't Take It" - Inner Circle
    12) "MegaMan Theme" - MegaMan
