Chen Kuan-Tai takes pity on the young gung fu student's inability to fend for himself by asking if he could teach him gung fu and breathing techniques. The student realizes this is against school rules, but agrees anyway to be taught by the famous master in exchange for saving his life. During his training, the young student is told of 3 evil masters who terrorize the lands. Shortly, Chen Kuan-Tai is killed by the "3 Evils". Now is the time for the young student to extract revenge. Before this happens, the young student's master (Li Ho-Nien) finds out that he was taught by Chen Kuan-Tai and is thrown out. Later, the student returns to his school and finds out that it has been taken over by the "3 Evils". The young student, armed with new gung fu techniques, decides to take on the "3 Evils" one by one until all are dead.

The amorous woman of Tang Dynasty, Yu Yuen Kai (Pat Ha) is a young, pretty, and intellectual. At first, she is a woman on a spiritual path to enlightenment, but when she meets a young buck named Chui (Alex Man), all that is thrown out the window. Soon, Chui must leave, and to satisfy her sexual desires, Yuen Kai feeds all her desires to her maid named Luk (Lin Hai Lin). One sad day, Yuen Kai and Luk are caught making love and because of this, the two are banished from their place of living. While out, Yuen Kai is out writing poems and mingling with the great Tang dynasty writers, poets, painters, and sculptors. Yuen Kai sorta became a trendsetter for her time. Sadly, tragedy would strike Yuen Kai again which would prove fatal.

The flick takes place during World War II. The Japanese are mean bastards who come in and take over a clinic (full of women) after they finish off a "Gwei Lo" pilot over-the-top-fashion, they practically make all the females work-sex slaves and ship them off to a detention camp. All the Japanese get their rocks off on the female captives, including a wicked Lesbian (Terry Liu-Princess Dragon Mom in Infra Man ) who is dying for female flesh. But as you watch the film, the film starts to slip away from the trashy side of filmmaking with female bondage, breasts, sex, etc. and introduce a little story line. You see, one of the female captives actually knows a hidden place in the countryside filled with gold. A Chinese (Lo Lieh), raised in Japan, and thought of as a Japanese now, somehow goes back to his roots and is now working undercover for the Chinese. His job is to make contact with the female captive and recover the gold. Unfortunately, the Japanese find out about the secret and the gold, and decide to play along with the whole situation so they can get the gold themselves. The chase leading to the gold was exciting and will have you on the edge of your seat, but the ending will leave you slouched back in your seat.

The male lead in the film, Chang Shih Chieh (Chang Chung), is smart, dapper, and witty just like Bond, but minus the gadgets and fancy cars. In the flick, Shih Chieh mentions James Bond as a friend. As a matter of fact he also states that Bond has thought him a few tricks of the trade. As for the flick, a crime organization called the Black Falcons has just murdered an undercover. The police feel that the head of the Black Falcons, Mr. Tan, isn't the one calling the shots anymore and would like to investigate as to who is. The Police plan on using Mr. Tan's daughter, Chun Li, as the key to seeing him. So what do the Police do? They hire a handsome agent named Shih Chieh to seduce the daughter so they can find Mr. Tan. Shih Chieh woos the girl but takes up to really liking her. The mission turns from being 'business' to now being personal as Shih Chien and Chun Li try to find Mr. Tan. This flick is over 30 years old. The action scenes were pretty good, yet slow, for the time. There was even a gunfight that didn't look too cheesy!

It's based on a controversial historical incident that happened during the Ching Dynasty. It starts off with Chang Wen Hsiang (David Chiang) telling a story of betrayal as he is about to be executed. Wen Hsiang tells how he and his brother, Huang Chung (Chen Kuan Tai), were robbers who befriended and ambitious man, Ma Hsin I (Ti Lung), after an attempt to rob him. The three start hanging out and soon they form a little mountain army. Ma Hsin I has bigger plans and leaves his two blood Brothers to seek his dream of becoming a man of great importance-a General in the army. After doing well, Ma Hsin I summons both of his blood Brothers to join his army, which they do in a heartbeat. The three blood Brothers earn many victories, riches and fame. All this is not enough for Ma Hsin I, who has been having a secret affair with Huang Chung's wife, Mi Lan (Ching Li). Ma Hsin I's lust and love for Mi Lan causes him to betray and plot to kill Huang Chung with the intention of making Mi Lan his own. Ma Hsin I's plot to have Huang Chung killed is successful, but in the process, he loses another blood Brother, Chang Wen Hsiang, who now has sworn to kill him to avenge Huang Chung's death. Excellent movie-highly recommended!

A couple of students from a rival school are causing havoc with the help of Ho Fu (Liu Chia-Liang). Ho Fu is the master of the "Deadly Kick" and "Killing Spear" techniques. The dangerous Ho Fu is also a wanted man by the government. An inspector (Liu Chia-Yung), who is friends with the Wong family, is sent out to arrest Ho Fu. Sadly, Ho Fu's "Deadly Kick" in a duel kills him. While training with Master Liu (Chen Kuan-Tai), Fei-Hung finds out that the inspector died in a match with Ho Fu. Fei Hung goes for revenge against Ho. One thing you learn from this movie is to have compassion for your enemies, and if you do, your enemy will respect you and "give you his heart". Don't believe me? Well listen to Master Liu!

This movie took a lot of flack for the inauthentic San Francisco sets that were built on the Shaw Studio lots. No matter what, this is one of Fu Sheng's best.

These Japanese fighters plan on taking over the town for profit and pleasure. Jimmy's teacher and school are gone, so what is left for Jimmy to do? -Revenge. Jimmy goes into training mode and develops his techniques to counter Japanese karate. After acquiring the skills Jimmy (looking like a doctor) goes out and gets his revenge. This movie is considered to be the first to make the transition from swordplay to gung fu.

The Samurai is dead, but he gets the last laugh as he summons his friend, a master Ninja named Chen Yuan (Michael Chan Wai Man) and his 5 Element Ninjas to avenge him and help out the "losing" Clan. The "winning" Clan are all killed by the Ninja crew, but one guy named Siao Tien Hao (Cheng Tien Chi) escapes to seek help from a Master who knows Ninjitsu. The Master teaches Tien Hao and some other students (played by Chu Ke, Wang Li, and Yu Tai Ping) how to defeat the 5 element ninjas and together, they challenge the Ninjas in a fight to the death. Neat movie. One guy gets those ninja stars thrown right through his body without knowing what happened. There is another part where another guy is fighting a load of ninjas while his intestines are hanging out. One scene, towards the end of the flick, has Chen Tien Chi and company pulling the limbs off one ninja. If you like ninjas, gore, and gung fu, this flick is a definite must see for you.

Ah Tung's Sifu is not your everyday beggar. He is an undercover police officer who is hot on the trail of a contraband and opium ring led by Ho Chang Shang (Wang Lung Wei). To get rid of the beggar/cop, Ho Chang Sheng, hires one of his partners, spearman Yip Fei (Yuen Wah), to kill off the cop posing as a beggar. In the midst of all this killing is a confused kid, Ah Tung, he who thinks his father is involved with the killing. In the end, Ah Tung, using his wit,guile and gung fu, manages to deliver all the bad guys to justice before undergoing training to take over his old man's business.

They constantly fight, pester, and prank each other. Soon Lo Lieh comes to Shaolin to retrieve this medal and both Shaolin parties gang up to stop him.

To then promises to find his son new arms (the kind that extend and shoot darts) and to teach him his fierce Tiger Strike. When To's son grows up and is an expert with his Tiger strike, Tu Tin To gathers up all of the Tien Nan Tiger's kids for his son (Lu Feng) to cripple them for revenge. It seems To, due to the fact the Tien Nan Tigers killed his wife and crippled his son, has become paranoid about anybody who disrespects him and son. A few unassuming guys, Chin San (Kuo Chui) the trinket seller, Wei (Lo Meng) the blacksmith, Wang Yee (Chiang Sheng), and Ah Kwei (Sun Chien) could not shut up, walk away, or mind their own business. All four had run-ins with To and son and now the four are all cripples. Chin San was blinded, Wei became deaf and mute, Ah Kwei lost his legs, and Wang Yee was turned into an idiot. Luckily, Ah Kwei finds a letter on Wang Yee's person stating he had a teacher (Ching Miao) at a villa that is an eight-day walk. The four band together to travel to see the teacher in order to ask him to help his student, Wang Yee. Once the teacher hears of Tu Tin To's wickedness dealt to his student, he decides to teach the other three gung fu to one day deal with Tu Tin To and son.

The DVD was put out by Central Park Media (CCD-0201). The flick is letterboxed, but not properly. It is dubbed in English. You may know this flick as Mortal Combat or Crippled Avengers. CPM has re-titled this to be Return of the 5 Deadly Venoms. FYI, this has nothing to do with Five Deadly Venoms so don't even think this is a sequel. Also, the audio on this disk is kinda low and muffled, so jack up the volume and treble on your system. There are a few minor differences between the DVD and my VHS version. My VHS goes by Mortal Combat. It has an intro that acts as the cast credits. You'll see Kuo Chui as the blind man, Lo Meng as the deaf-mute man, Lu Feng as the armless man, etc. The DVD shows the Tien Nan Tigers walking and then busting through the doors of Tu Tin To's villa. My VHS, #1, is missing this part. The movie starts with the Tin Nan Tigers already in the villa. The DVD ends without the words "THE END", while the VHS does.

Apparently, he was famous because he killed a tiger with his own bare hands. The flick is the sequel to Tiger Killer , a flick that tells the tale of how Wu Song became famous. Wu Song in Tiger Killer is also played by Ti Lung. This flick starts off with Wu Song (Ti Lung) seeking out and killing a couple of men who killed his brother. After killing off the last guy (played by Liu Chia Yung) to complete the avenging of his brother, Wu Song voluntarily gives himself up to the authorities and goes to jail. Wu Song doesn't stay in jail that long as he partakes in a little mission for Shih En (Tien Ching), the governor of the town he is jailed at, to travel to the Delightful Forest (sorta of a Sin City), to thrash a man named Chang Chun (Chu Mu) who has taken over the town and controls it with an iron hand. Wu Song, as part of the deal, stops at every inn along the way to the Delightful forest for 3 bowls of wine. Yeah, he's drunk, but I guess the drunken stupor makes him less vulnerable to a beating-sorta of like a Drunken Master. Once Wu Song comes to Delightful Forest, as expected, he beats the hell out of Chang Chun. Chang Chun leaves Delightful Forest with his tail between his legs, but later gets the Governor (played by Chiang Nan), to trap Wu Song, so that he and his men can get even with Wu Song. However, things do not go smoothly as plan, as the hero Wu Song is ready to battle Chang Chun and the world to a bloody death.

This tape is in PAL. This is a pretty good movie, but the final fight scene is cut to shreds and edited all screwed up. The flick was a German release dubbed in German. Somebody was kind enough to loop the English track on it.

Fu Sheng's teacher (Shan Mao), sensing that Fu Sheng needs to better his gung fu because of the enemies made while helping out others against thugs, sends Fu Sheng to Shaolin to learn Choi La Fa gung fu. Fu Sheng returns to find out his teacher is dead. I guess you know what Fu Sheng has to do. Fu Sheng's wife, Chen Ni, has a part in the beginning. Other times, in other movies, she goes just by "Jenny".

Yun Ying-Fei then plots to have one of the 4 guy's pole sabotaged with an explosive so when it touches Kwan, the stick will shoot off into his body. After Kwan dies, Yun Ying-Fei again schemes to have the 4 guys killed in the name of Kwan to act like he is good guy in the eyes of Kwan's family.

The 11th Prince, whose name is Wang Yen Ching (Gordon Liu), is a prince who loves paintings, wine, and gung fu. Along his way to the palace in Peking, he meets up with a con man named Ho Chi aka Dirty Ho (Wong Yu). Wang gets Ho to be his servant/disciple by offering him the antidote to his nasty cut on his head that looks rotten. (Literal Chinese translation of this movie is Rotten Head Ho!) At first Ho is a disgruntled servant with the intentions of getting his head cured, but after a while Ho is willing to be the 11th Prince's servant. Good movie. Check out the parts of the film where the 11th Prince spars with his hosts (Wang Lung Wei, Hsiao Ho, and Wilson Tong) as they are "faking" polite conversation. A history lesson: The character in this flick played by Wong Yu, Ho Chi, was in fact a real person. He was a beggar and thief who was caught stealing by some ruthless Manchurians and beaten badly. Soon, Ho Chi was taken into Shaolin and treated for wounds. While at Shaolin, Ho learned gung fu for several years and left after he figured his skills were good. Upon leaving, Ho formed the "Blood Brothers" clan.

As the story unfolds, we find out that Li Wen Hsia is actually a famous bandit named Wen Sau Hu who has managed to get two pretty sisters, Meng (Ivy Ling Po) and Hua (Wang Ping), to assist in his plot to steal the gold from the villa he is in charge of looking after. Wen's plan is a success, but due to jealously, greed, and an opportunist named Ting Chi Yin (Lo Lieh), the gold that everybody seeks is up for grabs.

In the process, he leaves his girlfriend, Butterfly. In exchange for going, he is told by the main guy of his gang that he would be taken care of. This is not true. The boss tries to kill him and makes his girlfriend a prostitute. While on exile, he meets the killer of his father, David Chiang, who is always coughing. Maybe it's the cigars? They become friends, but in the end, you know they will fight regardless--Right?

Why? It's because the Manchus found out that rebels were using Shaolin as a cover for their activities. The Manchus then ordered Bai Mei to set fire to Shaolin. To save Shaolin, Monk Chi-San engages Bai Mei in a duel to the death. This is the uncut Dutch print that features that opening fight scene between Priest Bai Mei (Lo Lieh) and Monk Chi-San (Lee Hoi-San). Well, Bai Mei wins and therefore Shaolin is put on fire. This is where this movie picks up. You can see in the beginning Shaolin members led by Hung Hsi Kwan (Chen Kuan-Tai) fleeing from the Manchus and their blazing temple. All the members go their separate ways with the hope of reuniting in the future to avenge their slain brothers. The movie then focuses on Tiger Claw specialist Hung Hsi Kwan. He gets married to Yong Chun (Li Li-Li), a crane fist specialist. If you don't know Mandarin, Yong Chun, is Wing Chun in Cantonese. So Hung Hsi-Kwan married the so-called founder of Wing Chun! Anyways, The two have a kid (Wong Yu). Its one big happy family! Throughout the years, Chen Kuan Tai trains with Bai Mei in mind. Thinking that he is ready, Chen Kuan Tai decides to take on Priest Bai Mei. He barely escapes from death at Bai Mei's hands. After recuperating from the match, Hung Hsi Kwan trains again, but by this time, his son (Wong Yu) is grown. Chen Kuan Tai thinks he is better and goes out to fight Bai Mei and avenge all his dead brothers. Chen Kuan Tai gets killed and now it is up to his son (Wong Yu) to avenge his father. After watching this movie, watch Fists of the White Lotus as a sequel.

Wang Lung-Wei doesn't like this and asks his uncle, Lo Lieh, the number two priest of the White Lotus Clan to help kill these two guys. One of these guys is Gordon Liu's friend. Lo Lieh kills both of these guys using some gung fu that Gordon Liu can't manage to get close to. Gordon Liu vows revenge and trains himself incorporating Tiger and Crane fist along with a little bit of Kara Hui's "woman" gung fu to find Lo Lieh's weak spot and kill him.

Whoever wins the tournament can claim the best in the land for the school. A rival school, led by Men Dung Shen (Tien Feng) and his son (Tung Lin), wants the crown for themselves and will stop at nothing to get it. This includes hiring some Japanese (led by Chao Hsiung) to kill off members of the Chen Wu school. Things are getting tough as members of the 'good' school or dying left, right and losing their eyeballs. Luckily for the 'good' guys, Chi Hao, who has been learning Iron Fist, is there to kill all those bad guys. This flick was not too bad for one of the early gung fu flicks. I felt that it had elements of Wang Yu's One Armed Boxer with the hands thing. Overall, the film is enjoyable and you will get to see Lo Lieh as a good guy too!

Too bad there was only a few heads dropping. In this one, you get to see the gentle, loving Chiao Chiao wield a sword. She does a good job. Chiao Chiao plays Hua Pi Lien. The flick starts off with Pi Lien being jilted by her lover, Lo Hung Hsun (Chen Liang). Wanting to get away and release some frustrations, Pi Lien disappears for a while and later manages to upset a nasty debt collector (played by Fan Mei Sheng). Meanwhile, Hung Hsun decides to look for his girlfriend and when he does find her, she is in a showdown with the debt collector and his men. Hung Hsun saves Pi Lien and the debt collector runs off and tells his Boss (played by Kao Feng) with a big scar across his face. It so happens that this Boss and Hung Hsun have met before and this Boss with the scar would surely like to pay Hung Hsun a visit. You know what I mean? But you know what? After a sword orgy in which a load of people are dueling with swords and throwing darts at each other, Pi Lien and the Boss with the scar on his face duel each other on a suspension bridge. Quite exciting! Pi Lien is hanging on for dear life and then all of a sudden like flies on shit, Hung Hsun comes out of nowhere to save the day!

Roving bandits headed by a guy named Wang Chao has captured a city called Chang An. Li Tsun-Yung (Ku Feng) was granted an Imperial title under a special decree by the Tang Emperor as long as he remained loyal and lead an army to fight the bandits at Chang An. To prepare for the attack, Li Tsun-Yung and his 13 sons will meet with other government units to discuss a plan of attack. At the meeting, which is sort of a feast, the Emperor's ambassador, Chun Wu (Chen Sing) engages one of Li Tsun-Yung's sons, Li Tsun-Hsiao (David Chiang), in a wager that would pit the bandit General Ming (Yang Tze) against Tsun-Hsiao. The bet was to have Tsun-Hsiao bring in the body of the General Ming into the palace at a certain time. Tsun-Hsiao wins the bet (a Royal Belt), and wants Chun Wu to fork over the belt. Chun Wu refuses, but Tsun-Hsiao takes half of the belt anyways. Pissed off, Chun Wu leaves. Meanwhile, Li Tsun-Yung and sons party, feast, get drunk, and pass out. When they come to their senses, one of the sons has an idea to invade Chang An and possibly assassinate Wang Chao. If they can't assassinate Wang Chao, at least he would be scared, thus the 13 sons have nothing to lose. Nine of the sons go, they don't kill Wang Chao, but they pick up valuable information on the city. Along the way, they meet a pretty lady (Li Li-Li) who feeds them and helps them hide from Wang Chao's men. Two rogue brothers Tsun-Li (Wang Chung) and Tsun-Shin (Chan Chian) repay the pretty lady's kindness by trying to rape her. Tsun-Hsiao comes to the rescue and beats his brothers up causing them to leave and try to go home. While the two brothers are trying to leave, they alarm all of Wang Chao's men, thus causing danger to Tsun-Hsiao and the rest of the siblings. Tsun-Hsiao manages to escape and get back home in time and explain to Dad what the deal is. Li Tsun-Yung is pissed off and even wants his two rogue sons dead, but Tsun-Hsiao asks for them to be spared. With news about Chang An, Li Tsun-Yung then proceeds to raid Chang An and eventually regains the city. As a reward, Tsun-Yung is invited to meet with Chun Wu at Pien Ling village. Tsun-Yung doesn't like Chun Wu and suspects that he has something up his sleeve. The two rogue brothers, who have just come back from Pien Ling village, have convinced their father to go to Pien Ling. Tsun-Yung goes reluctantly with one of his sons, Tsun-Szu (Ti Lung). They have a good time, and everybody gets drunk and passes out. This is what Chun Wu had planned. Chun Wu then orders his army to attack the drunken Tsun-Yung, son, and a few other soldiers. Tsun-Yung manages to barely escape, but Tsun-Szu dies. Tsun-Hsiao arrives to help but it is too late. While sobered up, Tsun-Yung cusses out his two rogue sons for convincing him to go to Pien Ling. Again, Tsun-Yung drinks and passes out. The two rogue sons come up with a plan to get back at Tsun-Hsiao by luring him into a tent to speak to his father. They know that Tsun-Hsiao won't come easily, so one of the rogue brothers steals his Dad's sword, and uses the sword to make it seem that it was an order and that he must come to the tent at once. Tsun-Hsiao leaves for the tent at once, and falls victim to their trap. In a gruesome death, the brothers tie up each of Tsun-Hsiao's limbs to a different horse, and at a signal, all the horses go their separate ways, thus pulling Tsun-Hsiao's limbs in different directions. Poor Tsun-Hsiao! Anyways, word gets out of Tsun-Hsiao's death. Li Szu-Yuan (Chin Han) vows to everyone that he will catch his other two brothers and make them pay. This is a pretty good movie. Also look very close, you will find a young Yuen Wo-Ping. He plays an extra as one of Li Tsun-Yung's men dressed in a black uniform.
