Ustinov, "Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen" (1981).
There were also some Chan imatations with the Mr. Moto character from the John P. Marquand's series -- later to become several films starring Peter Lorre as the Japanese detective-spy, and the Mr. Wong detective films starring Boris Karloff.
THE ORIGIN OF CHAN:
In 1919, Earl Derr Biggers read about a Chinese detective, Chang Apana.
Mr. Biggers was fascinated by it and decided to create his own Chinese detective
series. In 1925, the first novel in the series was published, House
Without A Key, starring Charlie Chan of the Honolulu Police Department.
Five more books of his adventures followed: The Chinese Parrot (1926), Behind The Curtain (1928), The Black Camel (1929), Charlie Chan Carries On (1930), and Keeper Of The Keys (1932). The series was very successful.
The novels were adapted to film, and a Broadway play was produced from Keeper Of The Keys in 1933. Biggers passed away the same year.
