A "build list" is a detailed listing of every feature and option that was built into your vehicle at the assembly plant. Everything from paint codes to seats to engine type/transmission type is listed. You can even find out if the vehicle was delivered with floor mats! The build list is far more detailed than the window sticker, it even shows the date and hour it was manufactured!
To get a build list for your Mopar vehicle, go to the service manager or parts department at your local Chrysler or Dodge dealer. Give them your VIN and ask them to do a "function 69" or VIP (Vehicle Information Plus) printout on your vehicle. If for some reason they refuse, go to another dealer. If you bought the vehicle used, you might also want to ask them to print out a copy of the repair history or service record. This will show any work that was done at a Chrysler-Plymouth or Dodge dealership whether under warranty or not.

The best way to get a vehicle production print out is to call the warranty service center 800 number. The print out is more accurate and they will mail it to you without charge.
We found out our minivan was a prototype vehicle sold to the public by accident with components not released for sale from Chrysler for over a year after we bought it. Seven were made but six were destroyed. Kinda neat – car magazines calling and wanting to do articles …
We are keeping it as a future investment.
Thanks,
Mark
