From the Washington Post - the FBI was warned before September 11th that Middle Eastern pilots were training here in the United States.

Airline pilots signed a petition to allow guns in the cockpit. Flight attendants oppose this measure:

Responding angrily, the union for flight attendants declared that it would fight the proposal unless the pilots agreed to use their guns not only to defend themselves, but also to ensure the safety of passengers and crew throughout the airplane.

However, this was the most convincing argument against the petition:

"We know guns in the homes are more likely to be used for killing relatives and for suicide. We have to consider guns in the cockpit might be used for more than the purpose intended."

That from Eleanor Holmes Norton, the non-voting delegate from the District of Columbia - which has the one of highest rates of violent crime in the nation - and bans guns.

Ten years ago, then-Arizona Governor Evan Mecham was facing impeachment, a recall election, and a criminal trial. Now he's thinking about returning to state politics.

Here's a story of illegal immigrants rallying for amnesty.

"We're all immigrants," said Passamani, who had a Brazilian flag draped over her back.

"It doesn't make a difference if some have green cards and others don't have papers. We're all in the same boat. We all want the same thing. We want a better life."

Poppycock. If they were all the same they would have all followed the rules and entered the country legally. My ancestors had to go through the laws. Now because some people choose to ignore them, I'm not working, and my neighborhood is littered with Mexican flags.

No sooner did the Israelis start to withdraw from one conflict, it appear they ignited another one. Literally. Again. I'll believe this language of "withdrawal" when I see it. If Americans started firing on Jewish synagogues or Islamic mosques, the whole world would be up in arms. However, one of the most sacred sites in Christendom is being fired upon, and we're taking it up the butt. By the way, conservative Christians support what the Israelis are up to. As do most congressional leaders. It's all about the Benjamins - or Binyamins. No slight intended - just a play on words.

Yasser Arafat is free to travel, but he may be exiled if there is another terror attack. Hopefully, Sharon doesn't try to enforce that policy.

Bob Owens sends this gem.

The New York Post is reporting on a boycott of the New York Times.

Three prominent Jewish leaders are calling for a boycott of the New York Times over what they feel is biased coverage against Israel in the current Middle East crisis.

"I told my congregation at services on Friday night and again on Saturday morning that I am no longer buying the Times, and I've urged them to do the same," said Rabbi Avi Weiss at the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale in the Bronx and the head of the Coalition for Jewish Concerns. Among his objections was the Times failure to cover a massive pro-Israel rally that drew 50,000 demonstrators on April 21. (The story ran on page 4 The Post on April 22).

I've always seen the Times as one of the most pro-Israel publications out there. However, I'm pretty fed up with the Israelis whining. We shouldn't be supporting them anyway. It appeared on CNN that they were actually beginning to withdraw, but I'll believe it when I see it. To see where your American tax dollars are going in this conflict, read this.
