Monument Park are current following two school curriculums: The 1985 syllabus that the 10th to 12th graders are following and Outcome Based Education that the 8th and 9th graders are following. The Outcome Based Education-system will be fully implemented by 2005.

The subjects of the grade 8’s are as follow:

    Afrikaans

    English

    Mathematics

    Economic Management Science (Accountancy)

    History

    Geography

    Natural Science

    Arts and Culture

    Technology

They can take music as an additional subject

The subjects of the grade nine’s are as follow:

Compulsory:

    Afrikaans

    English

    Mathematics

    Natural Science

    Geography

    History

    Technology

    Arts and Culture

The learners has the following subject choices

Economic Management Science
Typing
Music

The grade 10’s to 12’s must choose one subject out of each of the following groups

B English
C Biology
Compu-Typing
Mathematics
D Science
History
Compu-Typing
Business Economics
E Biology
Business Economics
Accountancy
F Accountancy
Geography

Computer Studies

The pupil has the free choice of choosing to take more subjects than it is compulsory. In that case the pupil must pay extra fees to take that subject. At this moment pupils pay R 200 (approximately $19) per annum for taking Computer Studies as a six subject and R 300 (approximately $ 29)as a seventh subject. Pupils that takes Compu-typing will pay R 200 (approximately $19) per annum, if they take it as a six subject and R 300(approximately $ 29)  as a seventh subject. 

The money are used to keep both the IT-classrooms in working condition. If a computer breaks, the money can also be used for upgrading. At this moment the computers are running Windows 98 Second edition and with Office 2000 as Program suite.
