History:
Year 6/7:

Under the aegis of the UN, Lord established JL embassies all over the world, its principle embassy being in New York City. Meanwhile, the JLI's ranks continued to expand as Captain Atom and Rocket Red #7 became its first new members. Rocket Red #7 was quickly revealed to be an alien Manhunter agent and was replaced with Rocket Red #4.

During the Millennium saga, the JLI added Dr. Fate II, Hawkman II and Hawkwoman II to the team, while the JLI once again worked with older members like Superman, Firestorm, and Green Lantern Hal Jordan. When the JLI defended the Earth from the alien Manga Kahn and the Cluster, the team recruited Fire, Ice, Big Barda and uh...G'Nort. The team went undercover in the Middle Eastern nation of Bialya to battle the Queen Bee. Even Lobo tricked the League into accepting him as a member until they found out he was really a murderous bounty hunter. This incarnation of the League was famous for its squabbling, bickering and bantering, which occurred even during even the most serious situations. The team once again faced Darkseid; defended the Earth against the Alien Alliance Invasion; and even battled the Injustice League, a group of incompetent super-villains.

It was right after the Invasion that Hawkman II revealed himself to be a spy from Thanagar. He murdered Hawkwoman II, who was under the impression that he was the son of the Golden Age Hawkman, who had been missing along with the other JSAers. Maxwell Lord, Amanda Waller of the Suicide Squad, and the Martian Manhunter were the first people to discover this, but it was kept a secret so as not to tarnish the team's reputation.
