She possesses the powers of speed and flight which can approach the speeds of around mach 2-3. She can deflect bullets with her nigh-unbreakable bracelets. Her magic lasso, spun from the Girdle of Gaea, makes anyone bound by it to tell the truth. Diana is also an expert hand-to-hand combatant and is trained to use a variety of weapons.

Background:

As a mortal, Diana was unique; formed out of clay by her mother Queen Hippolyta, she was given life and great powers by the Olympian gods. Following tradition on the Amazon Island, Diana was raised as a warrior, but she always had a desire to explore peaceful options to resolve conflicts. As Wonder Woman, Diana was an ambassador from the Themiscyra to Patriarch's World, teaching the message of peace and equality by her own example. Her graceful and confident manner smoothes over what might be regarded as arrogance to some of her colleagues, making her a popular member of the JLA.

Notes:

  • At creation, Wonder Woman was given great strength by Demeter, beauty and a loving heart by Aphrodite, wisdom by Athena, the eye of the hunter and unity with the beasts by Artemis, and sisterhood with fire by Hestia.

  • Wonder Woman's costume was passed on to two people during her lifetime, first to Artemis, a warrior from an outcast Amazon tribe, and second to her mother - Queen Hippolyta, who by traveling back through time became the Wonder Woman of the World War II era.

  • Before the current JLA was formed, it was Wonder Woman who led the team composed of Fire, Ice Maiden, Hawkman, and the Flash, among others.

  • After Diana's death at the hands of Neron, Hippolyta's supplication to the goddess Hera led to Diana's rebirth and transfiguration into the Goddess of Truth. Her seat in the JLA during this time was briefly filled by her mother. Diana has abandoned her post in Olympus and has once more resumed her JLA duties.

  • Because those around her were suffering from her presence in their lives and city, Diana has taken permanent residence in the Wonderdome. The former invisible plane and a marvel alien technology. It is telepathically linked to its hostess, and has created a suitable environment for Diana to live in.

  • In addition to Hippolyta, the Titan's Troia and the Amazon Artemis may be summoned to assist the JLA in times of extreme emergencies.
