Quote: "See, you and Ray were my League, Gypsy, the losers nobody remembered
or cared about when the headliners climbed back on stage like it was a Beatles
reunion...
...I should have been famous as one of the original JLA. Instead, I get lost in
time and come back to find myself making up the numbers of the loser
squadron."

Powers
and Abilities: |
Originally, Triumph drew power from Earth's magnetic field. He could
manipulate electromagnetic energy, allowing him to fly, create force fields,
"read" electronic messages, trace energy signatures, emit energy
pulses, manipulate objects, enhance his strength, and other formidable
abilities. Triumph now appears to be powered by 5th dimensional energies, which
restored his old powers while bestowing new ones. He can now mentally control
people, has 360º "hyper-senses", super-speed, and can mentally siphon
energy. He once claimed to be Superman's superior, while slowly killing him by
draining his solar cells. He also hinted at having even more powers. It is
unknown if he retained these powers after LKZ imprisonment. |

Weaknesses: |
Vulnerable to microwave radiation. |

| Background: |
| In post-Crisis continuity, Triumph was the
engineer who first brought the founders of the Justice League together (Justice
League America #92). He had disappeared after destroying the alien's
time/space warp in the JL of A's first outing. As a result, he and any
record of his existence was completely removed from the time stream for 10
years. He returned amid the time fluctuations of Zero Hour (Justice
League America #92) and joined the Task Force in J.L. International
v.2 #68.
During Underworld Unleashed, Neron gave Triumph a
candle to make his heart's desire come true. According to Christopher
Priest (former writer of JLTF), when this candle was lit in JLTF
#37, he was to have regained the 10 lost years of his life, but been
removed from JLA involvement once again. However, JLA #28 (4.99)
contradicts this, stating that he did help bring the original JLofA
together and was a JLTF member.
Ten years
ago, Triumph joined forces with the founding members of the JLA in
thwarting the aliens but was catapulted into the future and with
everyone's memories about him erased. Returning to reality during Zero
Hour, he sought aid from what was left of the Justice League in defending
the world against the aliens that started his career. His claims were met
with ridicule. Turned down by seventy-seven universities upon his return,
Triumph joins the Justice League Task Force, and immediately begins
undermining the Manhunter's authority on the team. Shortly after that,
Triumph was fired from the Task Force when he refused to help the Ray in
dealing with his nemesis, Death Masque. Unbeknownst to Martian Manhunter,
Triumph had suffered a spinal injury on a solo mission, and nearly died
from the extra trauma inflicted by J'onzz. After a self-serving attempt to
patch things up with Ray, he returned to Task Force but his membership was
not restored. Despite this, he still tagged along on a mission to save
L-Ron. At some point, he swiped some souvenirs from the JLA trophy room,
including a pen containing a 5th Dimensional Imp named Lkz. Down on his
luck, he tries to sell these items to a two-bit thugs, who decides to kill
him for kicks. Tempted by Lkz, Triumph frees the imp and restores
Triumph's powers as well as corrupting his mind. He contacts Ray and
Gypsy, then takes mental control of their minds as he directs them to
invading the JLA's Watchtower. As punishment for his wrongdoings, Triumph
was turned into a statue made of ice by the Spectre.
