Powers and Abilities: |
Merge with Shadows - Obsidian can merge his own
body with his shadow to become a 3-D or 2-D shadow. In shadow form, Obsidian
can not only float, but he gets enhanced strength and stamina.
Fear - Obsidian also has the
ability to show someone their own hidden fear.
Telepathy - This only extends
towards his sister, whom both share a telepathic bond, this has helped them
fight together, but this can be disastrous seeing has how Obsidian is
over-protective of his sister. |

| Son of Alan Scott
(Green Lantern I, aka Sentinel) and Rose Forrest (Thorn), Todd was separated at birth from twin,
Jennie-Lynn (Jade). Raised in an abusive foster home, Todd had a difficult
childhood. His life took a dramatic turn when he manifested his shadows
abilities. Todd can turn into a living, three- dimensional shadow capable of
passing through walls and people. In his obsidian form, Todd has enhanced
strength and vitality, but intense light pains him. Obsidian served as a member
of Infinity Inc. and was also briefly affiliated with the JLA. Obsidian drifted away from his friends and family,
struggling with increasing bouts of depression and perhaps worse. Briefly
controlled by the Starheart on several occasions, Obsidian has recently been
freed from the influence of the Starheart by Green Lantern I and The JSA.
Todd is currently working for The JSA in an administrative capacity. Notes:
- He can access
the same shadow dimension as Legion of Super-Heroes' Umbra, the Shade, and
Nightshade.
- Along with
Jade, they found work as a live-action special effects team.
- Todd shares a
rudimentary telepathic link with Jade, and can tell when the other needs
aid.
