Artemis/Requiem: Part of a tribe of Amazons that descended from Diana's Aunt,
Antiope, Artemis grew up not knowing the joys of living in paradise. Taught the ways of a warrior
since youth, Artemis is perhaps the best the Amazons have to offer on the fields of war.
Artemis, along with her tribe of Amazons, were able to regain their place on Paradise
Island due to the help of the witch Circe (see Circe). Shortly thereafter, she
participated in a second contest to choose the Ambassador to Man's World, "Wonder Woman".
Able to win the contest due to a spell that (unknowingly) gave her half of Diana's gods
given powers, Artemis traveled to Man's World to begin her brief reign as the Amazon
Champion. A harsher, more violent Wonder Woman, Artemis was often in trouble for her
short temper, and under media scrutiny for her violent means of fighting crime.
Artemis was killed in Diana's stead by The White Magician. Sent to Hades, she quickly
rose in rank, and became the wife/concubine of one of the Thirteen Princes of Hades.
Believing her to be in great pain, Diana entered the realm of the dead and attempted to
rescue Artemis. Together, they fled Hades (not by Artemis' choice), and Artemis has since
joined a group known as the Hellenders, whose sole purpose is to rid the world of
demon's.
More recently, Artemis has re-entered Diana's life, and is helping out with the new
Wonder Girl's (see Cassandra Sandsmark/Wonder Girl) training.
