The Dominators are a race of alien conquerors whose technology has singled them out as one of the most advanced in the Galaxy. The majority of their structures and machines are grown from a form of bio-technology, they were also the first to discover the secrets of the human Metagene. Dominators society is a caste system with the position of any individual within that society governed by the size of his forehead disc. Like many of the malevolent races in this Galaxy they were fearful of the genetic diversity and strength of the human race, they feared that humanity was evolving into a race of gods. In order to counter this the Dominators arranged for a collation of alien races to invade and subjugate the Earth, however they were defeated in a war led by Earths superheroes. As a parting shot the Dominators detonated a gene-bomb designed to kill all those with the meta-gene. This backfired and had a random and unique effect on each of those with the meta-gene. The Dominators retreated from Earth's proximity for the next thousand years. At one stage they allied themselves with a thirtieth century Earth President and were responsible for the deaths of the Tornado Twins. They currently remain a threat to the United Planets and it can only be a matter of time before they cross the Legion of Superheroes.
