Bertram Larvan was an entomologist and inventor. His designs for miniature robotic insects were years ahead of their time. He turned to a life of crime to finance his inventions and repeatedly clashed with the Atom II. He even learned the Atom's secret identity as Ray Palmer before a bout of amnesia wiped if from his mind. He was killed during the closing battles against the Anti-Monitor.
