Background:
Earth-C is a world inhabited by anthropomorphized animals. When a strange meteor was in a collision course with Earth-1, Superman intercepted the meteor, breaking it up into 6 pieces, which fells through a dimensional portal to the world of Earth-C. One chunk landed in the garden of comic book artist Roger Rabbit, who when he eats his irradiated carrots, gains the powers of Captain Carrot. A second piece of the meteor knocked steel worker Peter Pig into a vat of molten steel, transforming him into the Porcine Powerhouse, Pig-Iron. The third chunk of the meteor came into possession of stage magician , who became Alley Kat Abra. The fourth chunk came to be possessed by the turtle who became Fastback. The fifth and sixth chunks landed in the middle of a celebrity interview between gossip columnist Rhona Barkitt and  movie star , who became the attractive and repulsive magnetic heroine named Yankee Poodle and Rubberduck, the Malleable Mallard respectively.
