Singularities are bizarre structures that do not follow the laws of physics as we know them. They lie at the centre of black holes and it is postulated that can potentially be gateways to other universes or entire universes of their own. In one reality an unknown scientist studying the effects of superstrings accidentally caused such a singularity to appear and was able to catch it in a temporary suppresser field for study. The strange radiation altered him granting him the ability to atomize his physical structure. Unfortunately the suppresser field and the singularity were unstable and threatened to expand and destroy the entire universe unless the team of scientists acted. The plan was to send the scientist into the singularity in the form of a stable element to investigate it and possibly neutralize it. However once pass the suppresser field he found himself on an interdimensional bridge between universes and could do nothing as his dimension collapsed behind him.
