Australian Nissan Skyline wagon profile
This is an Australian built Nissan Skyline wagon. It had a number of
unique panels including roof, uppers of the rear doors, plus rear quarters and
of course the rear "door". Taillights were unique too.
I always thought Australians designed this model but I've recently found that
it existed in Japan too (as did an R30 one!).
Australian Nissan Skyline wagon
Powered by a 3.0 litre straight six engine, which was also fitted to
Australian Holden Commodores from 1986 thru 1988.

This is the facelifted version. The new nose panels were unique to Skyline
(not shared with Pintara).
Australian Nissan Skyline sedan rear quarter
Like its R30 predessor this model did not have a rear wheel arch crease line;
rather the whole body was a mild wedge.
Australian Nissan Skyline sedan profile
Leading edge of the front indicator lenses have taken on a more backward
leaning line.

Note the reintroduction of the Skyline trademark round taillights, at last!

These cars were replaced in Australia by the fully imported Nissan
Maxima.

Nissan Skyline GTS coupe
I have only seen a couple of these model coupes in Adelaide; this one and a
white one a year or more ago. Underneath the glass the headlights have a black
masked look and perhaps have a different configuration to Australian models?
The owner of this one tells me that he swapped an RX7 for this car.
Nissan Skyline GTS coupe (facelifted model)
There is a minor variation at the back too mostly the panel surrounding number
plate differs from that on the sedans we got. It is possible this car was
fitted with Australian compliant taillights as the lenses markings look as
though they don't match the filler panel design?
