wheelchairs or scooters are alike</B>.  They come in <B>various sizes, with different options</B>.  <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#BF0000" FACE="Arial" ><B>Your needs should and must be addressed before aquiring an expensive piece of equipment like this, because your insurance coverage will only provide you with a like piece of equipment </B><B>once every 5 years.    </B></FONT></div> <div> <B>                                         </B></div> <div> Anyone supplying you with a piece of equipment <B>should</B> provide a service for a trained personnel to measure you, make recommedations to you, and give you an opportunity to try the equipment prior to purchase.  If they have any questions or suggestions I would expect and insist that they contact your doctor to discuss the information so that you are provided with the equipment that will provide you with the best possible scenerio.  REMEMBER:  <B>There is no such thing as a stupid question!  Do NOT let yourself be intiminated or feel pressured to accept a piece of equipment that will not fit your lifestyle.  </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>The ideal situation would be for  your doctor to refer you to an Occupational Therapist and a Physical Therapist.  </B>The doctors in most cases, are not familiar with all the equipment that might help you stay as independent as possible for as long as possible.   On the other hand, that is exactly what a good Occupational Therapist and/or Physical therapist can and should do for you.  They are kept appraised of the latest utensils for enabling you to take care of all, or most of your personal needs as well as the larger items and the available options of lifts, manual and motorized chairs, scooters, beds etc.  Some are very creative and can combine or make modifications to some
