The Quran is made up of 114 chapters which are quite diverse in length; the shortest chapter (108) has only 3 verses, while the longest chapter (2) has 286 verses. The chapters are roughly ordered in the Quran from longest to shortest, and they are categorized according to the place of revelation; some are considered Meccan, others Medinan.
