Author's Note:

The oldies listed are NOT in any particular order. The list is BY NO MEANS comprehensive..... as time goes on it will be expanded. There are 291 so far & about 300 more I have yet to type in!

For this list I primarily focused on music from groups that could have or did played the "Original" Starlight Ballroom on the boardwalk in Wildwood, NJ.....& Wildwood area clubs. Philadelphia was the home of "American Bandstand", & the Steel Pier was just up the road in Atlantic City. I tried to include the Best of the All the Oldies Artists, Timeless Classics, Doo Wop, Garage Rock and one of my favorites, Motown.

Scott Murphy's Starlight Ballroom, my radio show, on 94.3 The Coast.... NOW on Oldies 94 Slammin' Gold started out as a showcase for 50's tunes, but evolved into a total 50's & 60's Rock & Roll Show based on listener requests. I get at least 20 to 25 requests per show. It was, is, & always will be a showcase for great Rock & Roll with the emphasis on "Good Old U.S. Slammin' Gold Rock & Roll Tunes." ....... before & after that British Invasion. There are many British groups like The Stones, The Beatles, & the Hollies, to name a few that really WOULD be included in my own personal "Greatest Oldies of All Time" List ( the following list does have a few exceptions, like The Trogg's "Wild Thing", Manfred Mann's "Do Wah Diddy Diddy", Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl" and a few more that just needed to be included, because they are GREAT "At the Shore Party Tunes").

There are SO MANY exceptional oldies. If you have any suggestions on songs I may have missed,
PLEASE........ e-mail me, & tell me the song, artist, & why you think they should be included.

They definitely WILL be considered!!!

Keep On Rockin' ..........Scott
