The Himalayas are spread out through four different courtries- Pakistan, India, Nepal, and China. To visit the entire Himalaya Chain you need to have visas for the four countries. While traveling through the different parts of Himalayas you will observe different cultures- Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism. Going through the different parts of Himalayas will show you the lifestyles of different cultures.

However there are large amount of attractions here in the Himalayas.

ATTRACTIONS
Mount Everst- This is the highest mountain in the world that is located in Nepal. It is about 27,028 feet or 8,848 meters.
Godwin-Austin (K2)-This is the second highest mountain in the world that is located in Pakistani Himalayas. It is about 28,250 feet or 8,611 meters high.
KanchenjungaThis is the third highest mountain in the world and is located in the Himalayas. It is about 28,208 feet or 8,597 meters high.
MakaluThis is the 4th highest mountain in the world and is located in the Himalayas. It is about 27,824 feet or 8,480 meters high.
Dhaulagiri-This is the 5th highest mountain in the world and is located in the Himalayas. It is about 26,810 feet or 8,172 meters high.
Shimla- A hill station at an altitude of over 2100 meters in the southern Himachal Pradesh. This location provides scenry, relazation along with some history from the past. This place was a British hill station before the independence of Pakistan and India.
Dharamsala- This is an old British hill station in north-eastern Himachal Pradesh is know chiefly as the home of exiled Tibetan leder, Dalai Lama. This place has alot of hotels and restaurants along with a serious student of Tibetan culture. Contact your travel agent for furthur detail
Kully Valley- This is a fertile Kullu Valley in the northern Himachal Pradesh which rises northward from Mandi and Aut and heads toward the 3978 meters hgih Rohtang Pass. This valley has always been a popular place. There are a lot of tourists found there. The place is very peaceful and the atmosphere is unhurried. This is a great place for camping too.
Ladakh-This is a high-altitude plateau north of Himalaya, geographicaly in Tibet. This place consists of beautiful palaces, hilltops, and shattered-looking landscapes. Leh is the main town in the region and it was important because people used to stop there while they used to travel along the silk road from China. This is a fertile, scenic valley located 10 kilometers north of the great Indus River. Indus River is also a great place to visit.
Leh Palace-The Leh Palace, built in the 16th century. It is now deserted and badly damaged. Tourist climb hills to get to the top and get a magnificent view form the roof of the palace.
Naini Tal- This is an attractive hill station, located almost 2000 meters up in the Kumaon Hills of Uttar Pradesh. It used to be a summer capital of the state.
Chamba-It is high above with the Ravi River located north-east of Himachal Pradesh. 1000 years before the independence this place was ruled by a single dynasty of maharajas. This is a good historical place. There is a palace and a museum located there.
Corbett National Park-This was the India's first national park. It is famous for its wildlife and its beautiful location in the foothils of the Himalayas on the banks of the Ramganga River in northern Uttar Pradesh.
Garhwal and Kumaon- This place and a recently opened glacier, and to the east is India's second-highest peak, Nanda Devi (7817m).
Lahaul-This place consists of mountains that are bare and rugged, and the valleys are devoid of forest and vegetation.


HOTELS-There are few hotels found in the region. Mostly camping is done.

Getting There and Getting Around- Islamabad, and Delhi are the most convenient cities from which you could access the Indian Himalaya. There are flights from Delhi to Shimla, Kullu, Leh and Chandigarh. There are special tours provided by Pakistan International Airline from Islamabad. There are helicopter tours, and other plane tours that take you over the Himalayas. There are some flights that depart from Islamabad to Nepal, Tibet where you could get a look at the entire Himalaya Chain.
There are buses from Delhi to Rishikest, Shimla, and Manali (Kullu Valley). These tours take about two days to reach the different destinations. Buses depart from Manali on a two day tour to Leh (July to mid September only), and the six hour to Keylong (summer months) in Lahaul.

It is advised to take planes due to poor bus transportations, and bad road conditions.
